Based upon the many bad posts panning Hank Lee's (and his alleged conduct of telling you something is in stock and then, when you order, you recieve a notification that the item is "back-ordered"), I sent Hank Lee's an email wherein I specifically asked him to verify that he physically had the book in stock on a shelf and to send me an email acknowledging such fact. (I wanted my specific request and his affirmative response in writing for possible later use.) And part of my request was that the person sending me the email had personally gone and checked and actually had seen a copy of the book in stock at their store and that the book was available for immediate shipping to the customer. I then wanted that person to send me an emial verifying that he had actually gone and seen the book in sotck, etc..... In the email, I advised them that I was going to try and find the book from many sources and would order it from the first one that verified that they had physcially checked that the book was physically sitting in their store ready for immediate shipment. I wanted verification that they actually had the book in stock. I also advised that I was NOT interested in being put into a "back-ordered" scenario and that I would not order the book from them until and unless they could state categorically that they had physically checked that the book was actually in stock in their store and available for immediate shipment. I again reiterated that I wanted them to go and physically see the actual book in stock on a shelf and to then verify that fact (by email) to me. The next day, I received an email back from them thanking me for my email and indicating that "their computer records indicated that the book was is stock and ready to ship"!! AAAAARGH!!!!! What part of the English language do these guys not understand? I ended up ignoring Hank Lee's and I found the book elsewhere. Based upon that experience, I find it extremely difficult and unlikely that I would ever order anything from Hank Lee's. Mike

It doesn't look like I will be ordering from Hank Lee's or engimagia. In fact, this is what comes to mind when I think of enigmagia:
E - Edited reviews on their site. N - Non Disclosure Agreement for an effect that actually violates the NDA.. I - In cahoots with a magician selling an old, overpriced method. G - Got away with ripping off customers. M - Misleading/false advertising. A - Alienated a lot of magicians. G - Greed. I - Insincere attempt to make ammends for their behavior. A - Amnesia suddenly cured by Kuffs' potential legal action. |

Based on the demo, the worst of the year so far has to be F.L.Y., the $1,600.00 gimmicked shoes that get you 2" off the ground, and NOT very gracefully.

Masuda Wow. Neat trick, but $55 for a one-trick clever little piece of plastic borders on the criminal.

IbdMon99 why would this get the thread shut down? If it's the truth then why not let be known. Might save some future customers the headache that these guys went thru.

Because that's just what happens here, when people start using vague, broad derogatory terms like "sucks" and call businesses (especially those that pay for ads here) "scammers".
Whether or not it's a fair practice isn't the issue, unfortunately, it's just the way this board works - it has the right to remove threads and has exercised it plenty in the past. (I'm not saying I agree with it, it's just how it is )

I sent a reminder to HP in November. According to their reply, the book was expected on December 1. Yeah, right! I don't mind waiting for a back-ordered item. But charging my credit card up front. Now that takes chutzpah.

I believe Fly is one of the worst products of the year based on what I've seen and tried in person. The choppy, mechanical, noisy, gimmick that you have to have one hand in your pocket to use and that you have to refill, is not deceptive- as anyone can observe from watching the video demo.
The method here is probably the most obvious methods of all the levitations on the market and is the exact method laymen come up with when watching this type of stand up levitation(I've heard many times "something came out of his shoe" for explanations of how Blaine did the Balducci). Watch the video. does it fool you? really? well, it wont fool a laymen either. Again, this can be seen by the lackluster reactions of the spectators. I do not own this and never have claimed to. But I have used it. With that said, I will never buy or recommend it. Many apologies if this offends you-but it is my opinion and it is completely unbiased. PM me if you have any more questions or comments. |

My vote goes to hole in the head which I thankfully managed to sell two days after purchase for a small loss.
