Tillford's and Klamm's are both made by Jim Sommers,
and while feasible, have lots of problems as noted above. Currently there is no "great" portable Asrah on the market. The best hands-down is the 'Gossamer Flight' made by Own Magic Supreme. Being the best, and workable, and practical, it costs money... lots. But an Illusion is an INVESTMENT in your act and lasts many years. Except for a few exceptions, some made by Creative Magic, some by Sommers, and a few other highly imaginative builders, there are NO cheap and easy, fast and portable, illusion solutions out there. With Grand Scale Magic, you just can't always have it all! Go with the best you can afford, or wait until you can afford it. If it's not being made well, have someone skilled make it for you. My two-cents again, Walt |

I have seen Dimmare, Goldfinger & Dove, and John Schrock all do the Owen Version. If you ever witnessed them performing it you would buy it right away. It looks like real magic in their hands. Jack's vanish works out the lump in the cloth problem and looks amazing. Dimmare boldly drops the form right off the front of the stage into the audience where a stooge draws it under his seat. It goes undetected because everyone watches the up toss after the drop.
Basically it packs really small and the Owen couch is really deceptive with the black art cargo netting. If you have a flare for the dramatic and can do a good Zombie then I think it's a great practical way to do the Asrah. Puck |

It has been brought to my attention that some magicians may have misunderstood my prior post. I in no way am advocating that someone copy Dimmare's presentation of the European Asrah. I mearly mentioned it to spark ceativity on the behalf of those reading.
To put it simply "Don't Do It"!!!!!! |
