Here in San Francisco good performance space is at a premium.
That coupled with the fact that there are A LOT of tourist dollars floating around ensures that there are always a lot of... in a word... *bad* street performances going on, even to the exclusion of other acts that are good -but are waiting for the bums who dress as metal men or the thugs who break dance to get drunk/bored and clear out. My question is this -how do real workers deal with the problem of finding good spaces to perform? Also, any good ancedotes about situations where your show conflicted with someone else? thanks for the answers! Gaddy
