Not exactly a gaffed coin, but I wanted to hear if folks use a device like http://www.thetrickery.com/?nd=full&key=6667 this one. And what you think of it.

Thanks,

That's the olde antique Kellar coin catcher brought up to date. Works like a charm.

Need sleeves, I assume?

And if so, After use, can it be "rolled up" with the sleeves to show the forearms empty?

How or where one acquires the device and from there whether one uses acquitments to show ones hands empty and at end, how one disposes of such are essentially problems solved early last century, though for a quick look at today's interpretations of some classic ideas, check out Dan Sylvester's most notable offering. Sleeves? No, unless it is cold.

I guess I don't understand how it's used. Do I need to purchase it to understand it, or are you comfortable explaining it's use a little more?

Thanks so much. Pete and Jonathan, you both in particular have been so helpful to me in the last little while, as my career and my magic are turning in a new direction. I may have to thank you in the show program acknowledgements.

THe Kellar coin producers I still see in stock some places seem more like coin Announcers. I'd love to see if an old one was better made.

If you need to produce 12 coins and show all of them separate to your specatator then you do not have a lot of options except this producer I guess. If you do not to show the 12 coins then you can use other less obvious methods based on sleights.

I'm now looking at coin droppers and coin dumpers. A dropper will deliver one at a time to your hand from a device hidden under the coat. A dropper will deliver 6 coins all at once.

Anyone have experience with either of these gimmicks?

The following fell into my hands today, and reminded me of the above post...

"Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim & mountains to climb, music to hear, songs to sing & books to read, friends to cherish & life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there. The sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come 'round again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come & it's not kind. And when you go- and go you must- you yourself will make more dust!

It's not what you gather but what you scatter that tells the kind of life you've lived."

The gimmicks you are asking about is for the magic effect the Miser's Dream. The Keller Coin Dropper can be used in a couple of ways. It can be held in the hand and single coins produced, then ditch it in the bucket when empty or your favorite method. It can be back palmed as well, so that single coins can be produced. The Viking Model is easier to use in this fashion.

The Keller can also be used as a dropper for a hat as explained in Levent's Miser's dream DVD set.

A gimmick that dumps a quanity of coins can be used to secure the coins for multiplible or single production.

The "Coin Slide" is used to secure a single coin at a time, usually up to 5 or 6 for single production.

The Norm Nielsen dropper can help you seure a very small number of coins for stage or close-up if you need 4 or 5 coins all at once. Say for the coin production under playing cards or on stage for a coin star type of effect.

Hope this answeres some of your questions.
