As someone who is not connected to Richard in any way I thought I'd post this:
I was a bit hesitant posting a review, or rather preview (I have not yet tested it in the real world - although I don't have any doubts) of Richard Busch's Untouchable Peek Case. Although an old cliche, I really don't want to see it become part of every table hopper's repetoire. Because although there is *nothing* fishy about the case, it is recognizable. I do hope there are sufficiently few of these made to ensure this does not become the situation. When I first opened the package, I admit, I went straight for the case - rather than reading the booklet first and and immediately thought (because of my own preconceptions): "oh no this is going to be so transparent" I made my naive assumption about what was about to be described in the accompanying booklet and my face dropped a little but I still remained open minded. However it soon lifted when I did read the booklet - I had completely the wrong end of the stick even thought the thing was staring me in the face. In fact my initial assumption re-inforced the strength of the actual method behind this case. Could anything be better? For anyone who is worried about the question of why put something in the case this is answered for you quite directly. Be aware the peek is bold and this is not something for the faint hearted. Also be aware like with all peek cases its not the secret that makes the effect - it is you and the way your presentation uses the case. This is perhaps a little more important with this one as the convincer absolutely requires this. The booklet that comes with the well made case (should last a long time) as well as providing clear and unambiguous instructions provides several suggested routines that are not just afterthoughts to pad out the booklet. To summarize If you want a serious tool get "The Untouchable" if you want another toy or a new cool trick this isn't for you and you'll be disappointed. I also appreciate that for some people: that peek cases just aren't for them and this probably won't change your mind if this is the true for you. Thank you for releasing this one Richard. I am certainly happy. Regards, Kris Sheglova
The above is all rubbish, except that which you chose to believe

Hi Kris,
I don't know if you own a SUC (II) but if you do, which one do you prefer? At the moment I wanted to buy SUC II, but it's out of order. So maybe UPC is a good choise. Thanks in advance |

You cannot compare the SUC or the UPC. You might as well compare a circular saw with a hammer, both tools for a carpenter but very different. There is nothing break through about the Untouchable Peek Case however the subtle handling and psychological tidbits that come with it is what makes this ungimmicked case one of the most powerful tools you can have. The SUC is a different case which I use for nail writing an answer onto a card that is "secure in my wallet" as opposed to a peek. Richard's cannot be used for that.
I just returned from a week in Las Vegas where I used Richard's new wallet and I blew away several well versed magicians with it. It delivers a clean, clear view of what is written on the card and you NEVER touch the card. It has a logical reason for even having the person write on the card to begin with. It is not something you want to learn a secret, you will be disappointed BUT if you "perform" real world material, this IS for you. Again let me reiterate-Richard's new wallet is NOT the best, it is not revolutionary, BUT it IS different than the others on the market. A quick clarification about my UNTOUCHABLE. Paul is quite correct - with my friend Mark Strivings' wonderful SUC, the pocket-wr. aspect is sensational. However, both his and mine can be used for NW. My peek/access is full and the card is untouched by you. And mine can also send thoughts, do dollar bill div., and so forth. No other that I know of does all that mentalism. So, there are many differences too. Still, Mark's SUC is tremendous. Both make an unbeatable team for different situations. For more information and pics of UNTOUCHABLE, the ungimmicked peek case that sends thoughts too, e-mail me privately at:
mindful@telerama.com This is the ungimmicked case that Larry Becker carried in his pocket as a regular receipt/bill case for over a year and didn't discover the secret. It's the boldest and fullest peek in mentalism. Yet, the leather case is so thin and compact, you'll be amazed. |

I'm interested in the dimensions of the UPC. My current wallet is literally falling apart and I need to replace it. I'm also very picky about the size and shape of a wallet I would use for my everyday wallet. So I'm debating whether to consider the UPC as a replacement or not (I may purchase the UPC anyway, but not as my everyday wallet).
Thanks to anyone who might be inclined to get out a ruler and meansure their UPC. Peace, Jim |

Unless you travel VERY light, I don't think it would work as an everyday wallet. It is great as a credit card/business card wallet, though. I could comfortably carry my driver's license, a credit card or two, and some business cards. I suppose I could keep some money on the inside, but I thnk you'd either be limited to small amounts or large denominations. By the way, I just got mine today, and I laughed out loud as I read the accompanying documentation. The laughter was not prompted by derision but by delight! Way to go, Richard. ![]()

Jim,
I keep my paper money in it ( I don't carry a lot as I use a debit card for most purchases), a debir card, a few credit cards and a few business cards along with my drivers liscense. I carry another credit card, my insurance cards and anything else I need (AAA Card, etc), pictures in another wallet. It depends on what you usually carry. The idea is to have it LOOK like a regular wallet whan you present it to a spectator.

Thanks everyone for the useful info. It's smaller than I anticipated, and only a little bit longer than my current POS wallet. I do "travel light," carrying only a couple credit cards, a debit card, drivers license, library card, and grocery store card. I never carry cash in my wallet, so this very well might be worth considering as an everyday wallet.

Does anyone know where I can purchase Mark Striving's Sight Unseen Case and Richard Busch's Untouchable Peek Case online?
I have been very curious about SUC II ever since I saw it enthusiastically endorsed by Ian Rowland at http://www.ian-rowland.com. I am anxious to have more info on Richard Busch's item now that I have become aware of it on this forum. Any purchase info is greatly appreciated. By the way, if you are a fan of cold reading you must pick up a copy of Ian Rowland's book...it is a must! You can buy it online at Ian's site. Rich |

Rich,
as far as I know, the only ways to purchase them are directly from their creators. If you do a search here you'll definitely find out. Are you Richard Sanders as in once-upon-a-time-"When Creators Collide"-Sanders. An honour so see you in that case, as someone whose book inspried me when younger. (Even if it was magic and not mentalism in those days.) /Matias |

Rich,
As I understand the UPC can be purchased through Paul at http://www.stores.ebay.ca/Abstagecraft and the SUC (1&2) can be had by contacting Mark Strivings at markyapril@aol.com Hope that helps you... Stan |

I've had enough time to completely review the Untouchable Peek Case and I can tell you that the presentations - and methods used to "steal" the peek - are worth whatever Richard Busch charges! Highly recommended. By the way, there is in fact a sneaky way to NW using this case... which you'll discover for yourself in the performance notes that come with this item.

This was my first purchase of the New Year and certainly managed to get things off to a good start.
UPC is an excellent tool and Richard has provided some superb handling linguistics which elevate the printed routines while also providing a springboard for the performer in terms of further potential applications. Excellent in every respect and I really cannot see this one lying in a drawer collecting dust. This is one to have and importantly, use! A word of caution for UK and European performers. The wallet uses a 'design' concept not commonly found outside of North America, so spectators may find the wallet somewhat unusual and very different. Unusual and different does not have to be a problem if the case and the specator are handled properly. I have found it raises curiosity as opposed to suspicion to the extent that a number of lay people have been so impressed with the practical nature of the case, they wanted to know where it could be purchased.

The unusualness of the case for people outside North Americas would be an added bonus I think. It would raise their curiosity giving you a good reason to show how the case "works"

Here's a nice thought that no one has observed: since the "desgin" of this beautifully ungimicked case *can*, in fact, be found on the unsuspecting person, you coul use their own case against them!
I've had mine for three days, and it is wonderful! In fact, when I pulled it out to show a few people, one pulled his own out (albeit a cheaper version, something that Richard addresses in the book). Well, I put mine away and used his! Needless to say, loud thumps were heard as jaws dropped everywhere. Richard, stop selling these! I don't want anyone else to get one! <grin> Lee |
