Not long after the juggling community grabbed hold of it, and magic largly ignored it. I am trying to change attitudes on this wonderful art form. Although perhaps some might think this should go in the juggling section I highly disagree, and hence I am putting it here. Dynamic manipulation is juggling or magic, and the presentation dictates how the audience perceives it.
I myself am a magician, and would like to share with you all a magical presentation of what some may see a juggling. Please Café thought police do not move this thread. While I prefer to present entire routines on film, I have put together a montage to demonstrate some of my ideas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFTkPvz-XH4 I hope you enjoy... Sensei Strange |

Sebsei,
That is truely beautiful. I especially like the 3 blue balls, it's very fluid. I have seen this type before and those who showed it called it "contact juggling". Which is the proper term? Until we appear again, Kipp Sherry |

What is it called?
This is actually an important question. The inventor called it Dynamic Manipulation. When the juggling world embraced it they called it contact juggling. Some call it sphere play, palm spinning, Jeb Sherrill is pushing the name kinetic manipulation. Here lies the danger. If it is juggling why would a magician do it? I have had issues with the naming of it for a while, but am letting it go. One thing is for for part juggling, part magic, mime and dance. To the eyes of most people that see it, the art is pure magic. I personally do not see why it would be considered anything different than billard ball manipulation - just a far deeper study of it. Perhaps the best anwser is for you to make up your own name. |

Oh yes, thank you very much for taking the time to watch my work. I really appreciate it, and the kind words. I have been working very hard and it is nice to have my brethren in the conjuring arts enjoy it.

I can't remember the last time I sat through five minutes of anything on youtube.com, but this was captivating. Besides the well performed sleight's of hand, the video was nicely put together. The music seemed Middle Eastern, but some Japanese influence in there somewhere (noticed the bamboo and plum blossoms in the background of the large gold-ball manipulation) and the name, Sensei (Master) Strange. Very entertaining, which is what I guess good conjuring is supposed to be, no matter what you call it!
