Trafficswarm...
http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?541215 I signed up for this service about six weeks ago. At the time, my website was getting about 20 to 50 hits a day. I am now getting ~2000+ hits a day. My wife is now complaining that the phone is ringing too much. It's totally free to sign up for the basic service. This is what I have. It takes about five minutes to set up. If anyone in the Café has had any negative experiences with this, please let me know. Thanks, Lee http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?541215 |

I don't quite understand how this works. Maybe I missed it. But they want to be your start up page. Then in turn, they send people to your site? How do the advertise your site?

so the traffic you generate is just other people who have also signed up or does it go broader than that? The fact that they don't make things very clear on their page http://www.traficswarm.com doesn't really help us understand. "Sign up and you'll be told everything" |

I am also finding it hard to find any information or a Q and A section on their site. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would like to at least read more about it if I can.

You can get quite a good feel of the operation via the Terms of Service link
at the bottom. Sorry my link above was incorrect http://www.trafficswarm.com/ timothy |

I called their customer service number today. I was told that 90% of their members are just small business owners that are trying to promote their websites. Websites are promoted to other members. Their money is made when people upgrade their memberships or buy additional points. So far, I have not done either. I may upgrade at a later time. As you accumulate more points, your website is placed on various search engines and more traffic is directed toward your site. As stated, I have only been a member for six weeks and it has only been positive for my business. I am curious if anyone has had any negative experiences. I don't know any more than this.
I actually just got a booking this morning for a trade show today in Las Vegas. There was a member in town that is running a ambulance billing service. He just signed up for a booth at the EMS trade show and came accross my site this morning. |

Good luck to everyone that signed up. Please keep the Café informed of any positives or negatives.
A funny thing happened yesterday while I was working the EMS trade show. A firefighter from New York came up to me and said that he had seen my website through Trafficswarm. He runs some sort of fire extinguisher service. |

Hmm it does sound interesting but I was wondering for those of you who are using it, can you answer a couple questions for me.
1) The start up page they mention, is this something that the person going to my site will see everytime they enter in my URL in a web broswer? I am not sure what they are referring to by the start page and if signing up that means every person visiting my site sees a start page first. 2) What does this start page look like? Thanks for any information you can give. Kyle

I am getting spam now from them and I just looked at the site and didn't sign up.

I haven't been getting any spam. It may be because of my spam filters.
The start up page looks very similar to a search engine page. There are 8 to 10 random member links displayed. You can click on them or not. Once a person goes on your web site, there is no content change. Some members have opted to put a Trafficswarm link on their site - I didn't. |

I signed up a week ago; no gigs, some spam.
I note that the opening page I get is all "hussle" businesses - get rich quick, etc. Still, I signed on. I'll give it a few more weeks to see if it gets me a gig. That's the whole idea there, right? Cheers, AtPG

Made a mistake signing up. I started to sign up and then changed my mind. I do not want them as my opening page. Seems they still captured my info. All I get is spam from them and hustled for get rich quick scams. I blocked them from my email account. Should have listened to my gut reaction and not even checked them out.

I still do not get any spam or pop-ups whatsoever. I must have good filters. I am sorry if any one in the Café is having any negative experiences with spam. It took me about a month to start getting any real traffic on my site. After seven weeks, it is now up to over 3000 hits per day. I just took my home phone number off my site because it was starting to get out of hand.
The home page is not relevent to me. I am a Mac user and I set my Safari browser to Trafficswarm but I mainly use Firefox for ordinary use. Firefox is set to a different home page. Even when I use Safari, I breeze right by the Trafficswarm page and pay no attention to it. |

I signed up about a week ago and am not really impressed. Even though I changed my Start Page Gategories to "Entertainment and Fun" and "Hobbies and Leisure", I still get announcements for Get Rich offers.
I have clicked through about 100 pages and still have not seen my listing show up as one of the six on ANY page. When I use the search engine and put in "magician", I do see my listing, and one for a Get Rich money magic scheme which is supposed to be better than any magician. I don't see Lee's listing. Even when I search for "Lee Dillingham" his page doesn't show up. I didn't see a listing for AtPG either. I handle my own domain and can tell who visits my site and where they were referred from. I've had one hit from this site, and this was me checking out to see how they represented my site. I've had 12 hits from spiders looking for information they can use for spam mailing lists. I have good spam filters but I have redirected them to a spam folder instead of deleting them immeadiately. I have seen my spam has increase considerably. I feel like I am advertising in sleeze bars and whoring out my client list (Don't worry, I locked it down so your names were not captured, but they did try). That's not the reputation or image I want so I have taken my site down and canceled my account. Thanks for the lead Lee but it's just not my style. I'm glad you are happy with the results, but in my opinion you should consider asking the Café to remove this thread. Until we appear again, Kipp Sherry |

I must admit 2,000 hits a day is a very impressive number. It reminds me of the saying I learned from Bob Sanders "not all suspects are prospects". I only get about 20 hits a day on my web site, and they are all from prospects. HAVE FUN Al Angello

You are right. Most of these are not prospects at all. However, I am getting some booking that I would not have gotten otherwise.
I realize that some people on this board have not been impressed with this site. Apparently, there have been some spam issues. I have not experienced this and I just have the spam filters that came with my Mac. I disagree that these guys are con artists. They have not taken a dime of my money. |
