MM doesn't make PF's. They make PF look-a-likes. If you want mini PF's try RNT2.

There hasn't been any word on them at all. The people who make the mini PF's are RnT II.

Great news! What's the load capacity of the mini's? Golf ball? Smaller? Sounds like the combo would make it perfect for Scott Guinn's routine. Scott should be pleased by the boost in ebook sales when these come out.

Dave,
once I have the finals spun out I'll give you the ID of the mouth and interior. Some space is lost due to the gaff be actually spun in like the rest of our combo cups. No smaller than a golf ball and if I can get the spinning down right, I might be able to keep it the same size as before, which is a handball size.

BTW, one of the things I'm trying to do with the museum is to set some rough standards as to what constitutes various sizes of cup. It's hard to pick one dimension or another. And the fact that some people refer to their cups as "mini" cups, when they mean that they are miniature with respect to their larger cups makes it somewhat difficult. I figure there needs to be a size between mini and standard called midi.

Now that I have a second set coming in the mail I'll share what I think is a great set of mini cups...RNTII's Mini Jesters. I first got a copper set and will have a brass set soon. I'd think these would be a walk-around performer's dream set as they, along with final load balls, take up so little room.
I'm working on a routine now using a borrowed dollar which is torn into three pieces and rolled into balls. The routine ends with 3 larger red balls and for the finale the stacked cups are lifted revealing a dollar ball. Unrolled it is a restored dollar bill which is returned to the spectator.
Anyway, I think they are now my favorite set of minicups. And while their small size (almost shot glass size) impacts some C&B moves it also opens up some other avenues. For instance I've found if you roll a dollar into a loose ball you can mimic a vanish of the ball ala Johnny Paul's spong balls and cups move (if you know what I'm talking about). I'm hoping Jake puts out a stainless set of these fine cups.

Mitch,
glad you like these, they most certainly did as well as our Mini PF cups when they first came out.

I've already tried several grades of stainless and have run into the same problem over and over, the mouth beads keep cracking when I roll them in. My only solution is to Triple Nickel Chrome them. A picture of that set is on the front page of our site and IMHO is just a pretty and durable as stainless.

The Jesters remind me of the mini P&L cups and I tend to like these better than the Mini Montis since they're a miniature traditional shape.

Thanks again for the kind words Mitch.

Dave,
I do Scott's mini 2 cup with Foxy 2 combos and I do a ver. of the Mendoza 3 cup as well. I dig the look of the Jesters and plan to add a set or 2 in the real near future!

The brass Mini Jesters arrived today from RNTII and they are just as nice as the copper set I bought. Thanks Jake, sweet cups as usual. I picked up a set of brand new looking brass Johnny Paul cups that belonged to Stan Kramien at his Magic Jamboree this weekend (Thanks to Stan for the steal of the convention for me...$100 for the cups. I certainly didn't need another set of cups, but how could I pass up that deal?). Sitting together the brass jesters look like mini Johnny Paul cups. Hmmm...I think I'm gonna have to pull out some sponge balls and try out some stuff...

Bill and Mitch,

thanks for the kind words. Recently with sales exceeding our expectations, we ran out of the original routine book inventory that included the Milt Kort Routine. While I'm not sure where we stand legally as far as producing more of the booklets we decided to just purchase in bulk from Magic, Inc. the Kort Now in Session book that has the routine and will be including the routine with future cup sales.

Mini cups still seem to be an "In Thing" with the release of the long drawn out PF Mini Combo sets I'm hoping Mini is still the craze for a bit longer Smile

Mitch, the smallest sponge balls I've seen are 1" if you need a set let me know, I have hundreds of sets just sitting here, I'll be happy to send some out to you but you may need to cut them down a bit for the Jester Cups.

Thank you both again for your kind words.

You can get 1/2" sponge balls by Goshman. They come in bags of about 25 or so.

Thanks Bill, know right who to order from too Smile If anyone has a need for 1" let me know I've got trash bags full that I'm willing to give away before the wife makes me throw them away.

I erred. They are actually 3/4" in diameter and come in bags of 10 from your favorite wholesaler in Rancho Cordova.

Maybe a little cold water to them would cause shrinkage?

Mad Jake - wow, really? I would love to take you up on your offer. Whenever I perform my shows for the underprivileged Oakland kids, they ask if they can keep the sponge balls. This would be a great way to let them have them without breaking the bank!

I use to have a set of the MM "micro cups". The were about triple the size of a thimble and the weight was very heavy. They came with 4 peas as the working balls and 4 red crochet balls (a standard working ball in a reg set of cups) as the final load.

I NEVER like the peas so I came up with a routine for the cups that used the final loads as the working balls. It wasn't a nesting routine since the balls can't nest on the cups but it was a pretty good routine.

For the climax, all the balls vansished and that was the end...I'd put the cups away and move on. It was a cute little routine...but I quickly grew tired of it and ended up selling the Micro's....
