Anyone see Wayne Dobsons Lucky Dip effect on Hocus Pocus. Sound interesting for a self working trick. Any comments?

Danny Archer has an effect that sounds almost like the same thing. I looked for it on his website but it seems to have vanished. I have seen Danny perform the effect several times and it always seems to get a great reaction. Espeicially for the amount of work one must put into it, or should I say lack there of yes it is "buy it today add it to your show tommorow easy" Anyone rememeber the name of this effect Mr. Archer sold?
Just my thoughts, Brent Braun |

Hello,
Yes, the name of the effect was Pick A Coin which we sold for several years. The Luck Dip effect by Wayne Dobson works differently than the Danny Archer effect. Best Regards Paul Gross owner Hocus Pocus |

I saw it at FISM. I wanted it, badly. But there´s no "swedish" version. I think it´s a very nice little trick, with a clever method. Buy it.

Did anyone see the countdown (british tv show) edition where Paul Zenon performed this trick. He did away with the bag and used someeone's pocket. The reactions were great.
Think about it and you might come up with the method. I think some people who buy this may be annoyed as it is linked to something you may have brought over the last year or so. It just uses a nice application of ..... Not trying to take away business from Wayne Dobson though. Buy his 'Unclamped' DVD. It's fantastic. |

I got this direct from wayne today
I quote from his website and the hocus pocus website "Sounds impossible, but its true! It is also 100% self working and instantly resets." now the reset to me is very important, and if its instant that's great, but how can you say this of this effect? you have a coin marked with permenant marker, which has to be used for the next performance, yet it has to be unmarked .... I asked wayne about this, and he said that he uses a minture bottle of vodka and a cloth to remove the intials form the spectator off the coin this isn't an instant reset! I don't want to have to hide in the corner whilst scrubbing the mark off with a bottle of spirits! I really like this effect, as its much cleaner than the pk ring method but I was led to beleive from the description that it would not have this problem either does anyone have any thoughts on this, or a faster, easier method for removing pemanent marker from a coin? cheers matt |

I'm glad I saw your post, Matt. I have a number of Wayne's items and like them all, so I was about to order this. However, like you, I needed it to truely be "instant reset."
So, I will hold off buying it, now knowing that it requires a little bit of work between each performance. Ron |

Matt,
If you mark a coin with a SHARPIE marker, after the effect, you can then quickly scribble over that mark with a dry erase marker and both marks will now rub off super EASILY with your finger in a second. I realize this is not instant reset BUT much easier than whipping out a little bottle and some cloth. |

Oh, I thought it was a PK ring that Paul Zennon used.
I'm such a typical magician thinking that I sit with smugness knowing how it's done. |

I still think it is wrong to call this "an instant reset"
to me, that gives the impression that the coins could be put bag into the bag at the end of the routine, and your ready to go again I think not..... |

Hello:
I finally bought this item - Hocus Pocus had it on sale during their recent inventory clearance. It is very clever and very simple. I think I will have some fun with this one. It is also very well made. Matt is correct in that it's definitely not an instant reset. Ron |

What is the difficulty level? Any sleights involved?

Sounds like this could be done with an ordinary change bag?

archers isn't instant reset either. I don't think anything of this nature would be.
