What are people's favourite tricks with TT's? Make a list. I'm looking for some better ones. I'm fed up with the Silk Vanish.

Do people use soft or hard tips???

What do they rate the best, Soft or Hard.

I like the soft ones better. It looks more realistic. They don't cost much, so buy both of them. Then make up your mind on which one you feel comfortable with.

I love Tips. Smile I used soft tips for a long time because of the realistic look. But I have since switched to hard tips. It is so much easier to pull objects out (especially folded bills). The soft tips get hot and things get stuck inside.

Besides if you have great technique and misdirection, either tip is great. But I just wanted to point out why I have now moved to hard tips.

I have found that the soft tips are more comfortable, but harder to get in and out of (and, as Brian indicated, harder to get objects out of). I have both styles, but tend to use the hard tips most.

A trick I do with a thumbtip is get a die, and proceed to crush it! Smile

Garrett Thomas has a great routine on his video "Any Questions."

If you're bored with the silk vanish, you could always end the vanish with a color-change.

I learned that from Cellini and that's what got me started doing TT work. I was bored with a silk vanish and never even did one, so I can see what you mean.

So, I just think you need more material.

Also, check out Patrick Pages' video with the TT. Lots of good material and moves in that one.

As I've written before, Page's video has a great TT steal that shows both hands and thumbs "empty". This is perfect for Uncle Harry that likes to shout out the secret to his nephew.

So if you run into Uncle Harry the @#$%@#$, you can also end clean and he'll look like an idiot!

Of course Uncle Harry (a relative of T. S. Eliot?) looks like an idiot. Uncle Harry is an idiot.

The lit cigarette vanish is great! Especially when you do the cigarette in the spectator tie or jacket. LOL Thats a riot.

I mostly use the TT for Bill transpos now.

My absolute favorite TT effect is David Harkey's "Pop Art" from "Simply Harkey."
