Sorry, I forgot to put this in my last post-Lets say I wanted to give out a page with an easy magic trick for them to do...what should it be? Also, for anyone who likes to give thing to all the kids in hopes that you will be booked again, I think this is an awesome idea-Give a piece of paper with a free easy magic trick stapled to your buisness card and stapled to a jumbo 5/10/20 dollar bill depending on how much you want to give them for a discount if they book you again...Explain what the jumbo money is for-Lets say you have a show and charge 250-Give them all a jumbo 20 and say its 20 off if they book you...give one of these to all the kids at the party! Thanks, Josh
Of course tell them to give it to their parents-If you give them a free trick, they wont forget about it, as most of you know! that's why you staple them together!
If a magician is not intending to "trick" a spectator, why is every "trick" called a magic "trick"?

That is a good idea. You can write down 4 or 5 other cheap tricks. Everything reads out on 1 piece of paper. They can be given out to all the children as hand outs.
Make sure it has your phone number. |

I've been thinking of doing this for a long time now. My ideas:
- To have 5 different cards each one with a different trick in the back; or - To have five or six different sheets each one with a trick. That way, they can fool themselves. Or maybe you can have two tricks one year and two tricks next year, etc. That way, even if it's a little more work, you can offer the kids something new in repeat bookings.

It seems a very interesting site, Dennis.
Anyway, Josh, if you spend some time writing the begginer's tricks (or puzzles - with matches, for example - , or stunts - like folding a piece of paper more than eight times) that you can find in all begginers magic books (and puzzle books,...) I think you can have more than you can give away

Other ideas besided magic tricks may inlcude things related to magic like:
a) colouring picture b) puzzle c) maze Always include your phone number. I use it as a means of promotion. I think the coupon is a good idea, but might be a little pushy. A bunch of papers stapled may look a little unprofessional. If that is the route you will take, I would incorporate the tricks, mazes, (or whatever you choose), contact information, and the discount coupon on one sheet of paper (coupon at the bottom so it can be cut off). On the coupon, I would inlcude your contact information, specifications for using the coupon (deadline dates, amount of discount), a cool graphic to grab attention to coupon. Just my thoughts, j. |
