When figuring the cost of the mismade bills, don't forget that you can tape the left over pieces together and spend them. This brings the price of each mismade bill down to just under two bucks each!

Dave

Without doing anything, the cost is only about $1.50, well under two bucks.

I really like that idea of giving the spectator a choice of getting back their $10 bill or keeping the Mismade $1 bill. The problem of this is that they will know you "switched" it as opposed to "rearranging" the bill itself. The Mismade $1 is NOT a Mismade $10.

An easy resolution is to change their $10 to a $1 and then change the $1 to the Mismade $1. You can do this using 2 TT's and to keep the bills UNGLUED-- NOT glued as in many bill switches sold on the market that you can change a $50 to a $20 to a $1 using 1 TT. You would have to switch the 2 different loaded TT's with a joke or something to get back into your pocket during the routine.

Now you can offer to the spectator about having them keep the Mismade $1 or change it back into the regular $1 and then their $10 and have them get back their borrowed $10.

This way, your routine involves 2 effects.... $10 to $1 and then $1 to Mismade $1.

What a Routine... But keep it logical!!!!!!

In a parlor atmosphere where you have a little distance between you and the spectators, you could show a regular bill, even hand it out for inspection, switch it out and shred the copy. Then you could do a restore using the taped bill.

Being in the UK, I switch a £5 bill for a single-sided flash paper one, shred that and burn it, then restore the original bill from the ashes.
