I just used Holy Moly in a walk around gig this past weekend. Aside from practicing, this was the first time performing it and I received excellent reactions. However, I am already noticing some black on one of the washers. It's a tarnished kind of look you would get with silver, although this of course is not silver. Any suggestions on to clean them?

I'd only use a mild soap & water & be sure to wipe the entire surface dry.
DO NOT USE CLEANERS containing ammonia, bleach or other chemicals that can damage the finishes of the metal.

Use a product called "Bar Keepers Friend". You can find it at stores like Walmart and Kroger. It is a powdery substance that can you put on a wet rag and will allow you to easily scrub the black and brown marks off of the washers. I have used it on my set of washers that came with Holy Moly and it works great and does not damage the washers at all.

IMHO I would say just keep the washer how it is. it makes it look realistic. Like come on who has a washer that is clean anyway?

Toothpaste + water. Get a little toothpaste, smear it all over the washer, rinse it off. Has worked for me on other things, can't see why it wouldn't in this case. And if it doesn't, it'll look the same, but smell minty-fresh.

When you use toothpaste, don't forget to floss.
Baking soda would also work and be less messy than toothpaste.
Mediocrity is greatly under rated!

If it's the same problem I'm having with mine, it's not that it's dirty. The problem is the coating on the washers is being rubbed off.
