Greetings...
I recently purchased and viewed the Fantasio lecture videos. On one of them he presents what he calls "the Challenger gimmick" for doing a one-hand vertical vanish of a cane, which looks great and makes sense. Following his directions, I tried this with both a cane that has a few years on it, and a brand-new cane. Neither cane has anywhere close to enough tension to vanish while in the vertical position, even after the "boiling water"... I contacted Fantasio and was told by him that I must be doing something wrong. Has anyone else had success with a vertical cane vanish? Any tips? I searched on the Café and found a message which suggested opening the cane about 40cm in reverse, and then boiling... I tried that and the cane has tension to pop in reverse about 40 cm.... still not enough to close completely like you see in the Fantasio videos... Anything else??? Thanks... Joe N. |
