I know there are real dealer schools on online ones. I'm just wondering if there are any dvds that teach the procedures for dealing games in a casino. I know there are tons of casino games, but I'm looking for poker and blackjack

I don't know about DVDs but this book for poker dealing is good.

There is other stuff at The Dice Dealers site for other games but I am not sure about DVDs.

Anyone else have any tips, I will most likely pick up the professional poker dealer's handbook but after reading some reviews I found out it has no photos or illustrations. So I'm hoping people have other suggestions that I could use in conjunction with tommy's

I'm not 100% sure about DVD's and videos, but I know that the Gambler's Book Shop has some books/manuals for dealing various games:

You could always use Google or another search engine and look for yourself. That would be my suggestion.

Mr. Z. I have indeed tried search forums to no avail. Search engines don't hit every website either...

Odd. Sites such as the Gambler's Book Shop, Gambler's General Store, and casinodealers.net all have what you're looking for...

Then I probably worded my query in a less than optimal fashion. Search engines are fickle.

However all I found on the sites you mentioned was the professional poker deal handbook, (and one on pai gow)I know I said in my initial post poker and blackjack, but I should have said just poker.

There are blackjack and poker dealing instructional books, tapes, etc... all within the Gambler's Book Shop site.

Was that really necessary? I hate to sound like a grade school teacher but "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all" I would rather you have not even contributed to my thread then listen to your passive agressive and patronizing responses. Last time I checked people came to these forums to share experience, thoughts, info and help each other. Do you respond to everyone by insinuating that they are helpless and of lower intelligence? I'm sure it is frustrating for you when people ask similar questions on these boards all the time or ask questions that you know the answers to. If I may make a suggestion, step away from the keyboard take some deep breaths and slowly count to ten.

If your thinking of becoming a dealer you will have to be prepared to listen to **** all night from the players and smile… or knock em out and get no tips. Smile

LOL, nice seinfeld reference. Not to keep whining, but as I said I should have specifically said poker, and I did say DVDs not vhs. I saw what you were talking about Mr.Z there were vhs tape sets for dealing poker and blackjack but I was looking for a dvd.

Tommy I'm aware of that but I'm not looking to become a dealer at a casino, just interested in how they do it.

There isn't much to poker--if you know the games and rules of play and can handle cards you've got it.

Generally, though, to get this type of information you need to go to a dealing school. The books, tapes, etc... only supplement it.

That Poker Dealer's Handbook seems to be held in pretty high regard so it'd probably be your best bet.
