I am about to order Dean's set of soft morgans. They look beautiful and having all the re edging and softening done by Jamie, makes it worth it. Another is having Dean's name on it.
My question is this... Does the set consist of 4 reg sized morgans and an expanded shell? Is the shell compatible with the 3cm? Thanks for the help guys! Rannie

Rannie,
The Dean's set is an unexpanded shell, plus cut down coins. The 3CM will work perfectly with this set... |

Rannie,
I bought a Dean's set of Walking Liberty coins. Received 4 coins plus the shell. Shell fits all of the coins perfectly. Highest compliments to Mr. Schoolcraft. Patrick |

Unless I'm mistaken...
The coins will not "work" together. Dean's set is 4 cut down coins and a non-expanded [ that fits. The 3CM is a cut down coin, a non-expanded [ and an expanded [. I have Dean's set and a 3CM. They do match and I do use them together in the same routine. Jamie was good about making all the coins match. But... the [ from Dean's set will not cover a 3CM as it has an expanded [ on it. You would need a expanded expanded [.

The 3CM gimmick along with a "Dean's Set" will give you the tools to create some very powerful coin magic. ... is this misleading then? Maybe we need to clarify the terms "work with", "compatible with" and "along with"... Thanks Eric for the details. |

I guess I just have to wait and see. I already had them ordered. I tried sending an email to Jamie but never got a response. I guess he's pretty loaded with orders. Oh well... I know and heard of the quality of work, and I can believe it! I just hope customer service is as great. I was really hoping to discuss my needs with him. You know how it is when you really want something.... Well ...., that's me...!! I just had to place my order to appease myself! LOL!!
Thanks guys!

The 3CM is, for this discussion, equivalent to a single coin. Consequently, the Dean's set gaff will not take the entire 3CM. However, work's perfectly means that it will look the same and behave similarly to one portion of the 3CM.
If you feel like using the two sets together, there will be no visual discrepencies between the various pieces but you cannot replace one of the Dean's set coins with an entire 3CM, only a portion of the 3CM gaff because both sets have one piece that is of the same size. Dave |

That would be good enough for me Dave. Thanks. Since both my orders are not custom made to my specs, I hope he has them in stock.

Jaime is very good at matching coins when they all come in under a single order. When I bought my coins from him I bought: Dean't Set, 3CM, and a Gravity Flipper.
All the coins are indistiguishable from each other... the Gravity flipper can be substituted in to Dean's set.... I've developed some interesting ideas using a 4 set with a gravity flipper and a shell... As I said... Jaime is very good at matching the coins... I use all 6 coins interchangeably in my work and none is the wiser... Congratulations on your purchase Rannie... You won't regret it! That's how I did mine too... I had some extra cash.. and I had been eyeing the coins form some time... and I finally gave in and went crazy... I have never regretted it. All my coin work now is done with my morgan dollars now. When I pick up a half dollar it feels tiny in my hand... and a quarter feels like a penny...

I've had the Walking Liberty set for about 2 years now and have been extremely happy with them for the most part...Ironically though, today I noticed that the shell edge is starting to actually tear away from the surface. It is very small, but might eventually become unusable. I will contact Jamie for a solution. The workmanship in this coin set is great, but because of the way the shell is built, is is not as sturdy as a standard expanded shell. Yes, I have dropped it a couple of times and I have always carried them loose in my pocket (maybe a coin purse would protect it better). So if you need a very sturdy shell, go with his regular expanded shell set (which is also beautiful), but if you want perfection and are able to take better care of them than me...go with the Ultimate.
Cheers! |

I ordered the 3CM, a soft morgan Deans set and an expanded Morgan. Jamie matched them all all up and they all fit together like a charm. These are truly the most magnificent sets of soins I've ever owned. We're blessed to have Jamie's talent available to enhance ours.

All my coin sets (including flipper and C/S coin)are dean dill's and really it worth the price.
Customer service from Jamie was great. I do have both Morgan set and also 3CM. They both work together. Top [ of 3CM can cover normal coin in your morgan set and the other way around. That's all you can do. Cheers Andre
