Forgive me for being daft, but can anyone answer a question about the Romero and FK system?

Do you have to wear a watch or a wristband? Could the hook be attached to your jacket near the wrist?

I have this thing about rings, watches, rubber bands, things like bandaids, anything that is stuck on my skin..... I wouldn't want to have to wear a watch everytime I want to do a trick, because its very uncomfortable to me.

Is there an alternate "hook-up" spot than a watch?

FK's comes with a strap and a unique interface for the line.

Romero's comes with a watch hook.

If you don't want to wear a watch with Romero's - you just need to get a strap, and hook on the strap instead of a watch.

Ok.... sorry again for not understanding, but could that strap be pinned or whatever to the wrist section of a jacket?

Or does it still have to be worn around the wrist?

How much tension is really on the thing? just the weight+weight of object being held?

would that normally be really noticable on a jacket?

Also, to people with the straps..... does it seem odd to be wearing straps instead of a watch? does anyone ever comment on "the wierd strap" on your wrist?

The straps aren't worn right on the wrist - they are up on the forearm. - Since you have a jacket sleeve, it is never seen.

The one I saw Bob Kohler use actually is put under his long sleeve shirt - so even when he took his jacket off, you don't see any strap - it was pretty cool.

I would guess that the line has to be anchored to your arm via watch band or strap. If you anchored it to your coat sleeve your sleeve would move up your arm for no reason. A coat sleeve is too flimsy to be the anchor.

I guess you would have to ask someone who ever tried this to know for sure - but I am pretty sure a fishing weight has enough weight to pull a sleeve up no problem.

Can anyone tell me which holdout would work better in this video? Go to http://www.cyngaporemagic.com/doc/ view the dice move video. This is done with an adapted perfect holdout. Would it work better with a FK?

You really need a watch in order to get the tension. You don't need much force, but having a fixed anchor point that it attached to your arm is the best alternative if you want to be able to control the Perfect Holdout with minimal movement. I actually use a watch band but have it very loose so its actually halfway up the forearm. Its never seen under the jacket and you don't get any lame comments about the watch.

I like this device. It is practical. Don't 'hold out' on getting one.

I purchased the Perfect Holdout a couple of years ago. Like it, but have since messed it up by not buying the proper replacement l##e. Can anyone recommend correct replacement? Whatever I choose seems to bind.

Thanks,

Keith Mitchell

Help for a Newbie, please?

I have been having trouble finding a good English language URL for The Perfect Holdout home site, or any url for the Fitch Kohler Proffessional Holdout System.

If anyone has the right addresses for the sites, I'd appreciate getting them at jbaldauf1@austin.r.com.

Thanks, Jim

Re: Perfect Holdout and Fitch Kohler Holdout websites

O.K. I stumbled onto the Perfect Holdout website (in English) ...
http://www.themagicworkshop.com

A friend here in Austin has The Perfect Holdout and it's really very nice. The key to this system is the 'small move to large move' feature.

The best product description I could find for the Fitch Kohler System is ...

I just got a Perfect Holdout and as recommended by someone here on one of the boards also got the Invisible Hand to combine the two. I'm really stoked to give it a try. I will say that the instruction dvd's for the IH are much better than the PH. If anyone has any suggestions for combining them that would be appreciated.

I use a Jack Miller/Invisible hand.
I have been thinking about picking up the PH, but I have one key question.
Do you have to plam an objected to transform an object?
Or also would you have to use shells like with a Raven?
The world we live in is even a greater illusion than magic.

Profile of David,
The possibilities are endless with the holdout. You will be very pleased purchasing the Perfect HO.I would suggest the Invisible Hand DVD set also and combine the two.Michel has mastered this device and his very detailed explanations make it joy to watch! The Perfect Holdout will make all of the crunched, awkward and suspicious moves disappear!I picked mine up on ebay for $180.00 about 8months ago and have since modified it bringing back the alligator clip. The alligator clip IMO works better and is less likely to lose the attachment. The end for the PHO I consider to be an attachment, but a very useful one.I've modified my HO and weighted attachments to use in different jackets. If anyone would like some help, message me.I can help out as far as my custom attachments and gimmicks,I would also love to hear from anybody else about any unique attachments.
As for your question,
I'm not sure what you mean by palming an object but you can palm an object (shimmed card) and vanish it with the HO,produce it from a wallet.Antonio explains this on the DVD.
Yes, you can use shim shell, steel core, magnetic coins, cards, silks,TT and many more.As Antonio says "This will make you a dangerous magician"!

I hope this helps in your decision.

David
