Somewhere I saw a post on contacting the Coke company to get some real Coke bottles, glass, not plastic, to use in conjuction with the Nielsen bottles.
Does anyone have this info? Thanks John

Those 8 ounce Coca-Cola bottles are still available in my area. Need some? If so, I may be awake a long time after consuming the contents prior to sending the bottles off! Heh heh.

If you are offering to ship some, I may take you up on that, but I was referring to a post on the Café with a way to get them from the CokeCola company.
But, I'm not concerned about the method, just getting some, full. John

It's difficult to ship liquid in the mail these days, thanks to you know who, but if Steve is careful opening them, drinks the contents and then sends you both the bottle and the undamaged cap, you should be able to fill them up and recap them yourself. You might need some silicone glue inside the cap to make them watertight.

Actually, it's not that big of a problem for me. I'm a Dangerous Goods Specialist for FedEx. I process, pack, secure and ship some REALLY scary stuff over your heads every night from the Memphis, Tennessee FedEx World Hub. Coca-Cola itself would not be HazMat or DG (as we call it) in its processed form. The components (mostly the phosphoric acid) are. The only problem with shipping is how the bottles would react to the changes in pressure in flight, depending upon HOW it was shipped. Send me a PM and we can discuss this further.

The 8 oz. Coke bottles are readily available around here, but they no longer match the Nielson Bottles. I went to a place that sells antiques, and well....a lot of.....let's see......how should I say this.....uh....junk. I found a few 'old style' Coke bottles there. One matched my Nielson perfectly. However, I broke the thing a month or so later.
While we are on the subject, doesn't the Coke in those little bottles taste better than any way? I love them! Regan

I live in Pennsylvania and I can still buy the coke bottles that match the Nielson bottles. I've found though, that the Giant, Weis, and some bigger grocery stores don't carry them.

I think the trick I have is Hydro Coke. The one where you can turn the bottle upside down and nothing comes out until you say so.
The version I have is either an 8 ounce or maybe even a 6 ounce bottle (I'll have to go look later.) I always had questions about this trick. Would it be possible to get large (16 or 20 ounce) <glass> bottles? and (without revealing too much) How would you figure out how big the gimmick has to be?

Update
I haven't gotten a coke bottle yet, but I found many on eBay. I will wait to see the Nielsen bottle before I try to get one. However, I did get a glass ketchup bottle from a local dinner. While eating lunch with a group of friends, I asked the waiter if I could buy one of theirs. Latter he came out with one in a bag, and just gave it to me. Nice. John

If the coke bottles are getting that hard to find.. I think rather than searching so hard to find the bottles.. perhaps we should write to Norm and have him re-tool the bottles to fit what's currently on the market.

I just scored a few bottles from a Collectors store... They were $1.00 each and have the red labels with white writing. I'm looking for the diet Coke with the same style labe and white lids...

If you go to Norm's website he now has the updated Red and white Coca Cola labels which will match the 8 oz glass Coke bottles you will find in the stores.
