Hey Y'all,

I've seen this cool routine where an assistant is tied up with rope and placed inside a hoop with a guy wearing a jacket. The hoop is lowered after a bit and the assistant is now wearing the guy's jacket still tied up. What is the name of this illusion and where can I find it?

All help is appreciated!

Got to see John do that live in a small room. He even taught us how to do it. Way cool.

Doing a search in Hocus-Pocus for Calvert will allow you to purchase his entire Spirit Cabinet routine. You can buy the secret to the Gysel Rope tie through any decent Rope book or DVD (even Tarbell).

Go the book/DVD route. This is very easy to do, and you could make your own curtain for as little as the cost of some bed sheets. You can find the Gysel Spirit tie, under different names, in Daryl's Expert Rope (v2?), Fulves' Self-Working Rope, (new)Enc. of Rope Tricks, Tarbell (V6); search the Café for some performance ideas; then send us half of what you save by going this route Smile

Check out Falkenstein and Willard DVDs. Vol 2 has a performance and explanation.
