I'd like to learn a great impromptu bill trick (or preferably routine) that can be done anytime, anywhere using only bills (no rubberbands, paperclips, pens, etc). If the trick includes coins also, that's OK, but I'd rather have something with just bills, as I already have some good stuff with coins. All recommendations will be greatly appreciated, and recommendations that aren't super difficult will be even more appreciated. I did do a search on this topic, but didn't find what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance! |

Many, many, many to choose from. For starters, how about a Pencil Through Bill (ie: Yoshio Hirose's "Invisible Hole," [from Apocalypse] or Dan Harlan's "Now U-Z It")? Also, I was recently watching Ammar's ETMMM again and found Rick Johnnson's "Dining On Dollars," which you might have some fun with. Or Michael Close's "Rubik's Dollar Bill." Or, under the right conditions, Paul Harris' "Improv Nightshades." Or... the list goes on and on.
Best of luck! |

Magiguy is right, there are so many out there. To break it down, what would you like the bill to do, fold itself, float, change to a higher currency, tear and restore, vanish, etc. If yoy want the bills to penetrate another bill, try "Ghost Bills."

I'll second "Ghost Bills". How great it is is a matter of opinion. I like it.
I too have looked around for bill effects and found a lot of them are gimmicked, need preparation or use the additional things (pens, elastics, etc.) that you mention. Good luck on your search. |

Rolling the bills. My favorite impromptu trick, using bills or otherwise. Place one bill on top of the other in a V formation. Have the spectator hold the corners, roll them up. Magic. Bill on bottom is now on top and the spectator is still holding the bills.
Gets 'em every time...

Thanks for the responses so far.
Maybe a better way for me to put this would be to ask what in your opinion are the best one or two tricks that use nothing but bills and possibly other commonly available items (I would put a normal pen or pencil in this category, but not, for example, at least in my case, rubberbands or a TT)? If possible, please include a brief description of the effect along with the name. Thanks again. |

Besides 'Ghost Bills'....
Impromptu and normal pen or pencil thru a borrowed bill is one I do quite a bit. Basically a bill is folded to the short ends, a pen or some thing is pushed thru center and then the pen is pulled across the fold and the bill is torn in half. then restored. I learned this from another mage and can't really suggest a resource. Sorry. John Carney's "The Logical Bill Trick" in 'Carneycopia' requires some non-gimmicked prepartion. A bill is folded and three half dollars are dumped from the folds. Quarters could be substituted. The "Trivoli Bill Switch' don't require a TT but you do need some minor, non-gimmicked preparation. I forget the web site but a Café or Google search may turn something up. Good Luck, |

Hey all, I'm new, introduced myself in the new members section.
Kaliix, I have been searching everywhere for the rolling bills trick. Do you know who created it or what it is officially called? I very much want to research and purchase this trick for my street magic routine. I have searched high and low, you are the first person to mention it. If you could help me out in any way. |

Torn and restored dollar, and bill switch are the two I use for a fast anytime effect. Bill switch bare handed to turn a 1 into a 5- or larger for a tip is a lot of fun when dining out.

I just purchased the L & L DVD "World's Greatest Money Magic". Jeff McBride has 3 effects with unprepared bills that could be strung together to make a routine. Tom Mullica teaches the Bill Roll. Several other routines that require some preparation. Also, Bob Neale teaches his Bunny Bill origami piece. Everything on the DVD is GOOD. A great purchase for only $20.00.
