This was my second time being asked to help on a proposal. Last night slightly after midnight I was called on to assist in giving a magical promise ring proposal for a couple at the party. Never missing my chance to dominate a captive audience, I did a short set of just the strongest material and finished with the ring and signed quarter
in the quarter go box and snatching the vanishing hank after the box was out for a bit. The guy giving the ring didn't take his queue and offer up the key to the box, and luckily I picked up on this and told everyone to be quiet and very still........ because somebody was about to feel....... something very strange......as I pointed to the ladies one of them giggled and acted like she felt something strange and I thought it was blown. Just then he picked up the second queue and said "yes I felt it" and brought out key from his pocket and all was saved to much astonishment and smooching. I was about to pocket the double signed quarter when they stopped me and begged me to keep it for a special memento. What a wonderful new year! What effects have you used for these types of occasions?
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

I can't say I've performed in a restaurant, but I was at Illusions in Carmel, Indiana when one of the table magicians was asked to "present" an engagement ring at the end of his routine. So he goes out to the table, comes back into the bar, and tells us all that the man at the table already had on a wedding band Therefore, he still had the ring on him. He was understandably nervous. Turns out, the hostess had sent him to the wrong table. We all got a good laugh out of that one.
