Unfortunatly Criss has exhausted too many ideas of magic, I lost interest halfway through the second season. I love magic, especially being shown on tv, but his magic has become ridicules, plus he talks too much, he's good but he's not that good. In addition the acting is subpar and his brothers are in on it too much, which becomes obvious. I will think more of him if in the next season he gives credit where credit is due and works on his acting and tries not to insult the magic community with his statements.

Interesting. Sankey's style is generally the complete opposite of what I've seen Criss do. However, some of Sankey's tricks can easily be adapted to Criss' style of presentation. It just seems that Criss likes to do large-scale flashy things.. I have trouble picturing Criss performing any of Sankey's tricks.
Imagine what would happen if they all teamed up with Derren Brown. Well, we shall see how the season goes. |

I am wondering why is Sankey directly informing about this ? Publicity purposes, boost image and sell more tricks afterwards ?
It is also interesting to find that C.Angel needs to hire another magicians to come up with new ideas. Maybe his rating is also going down with the team that he already has. |

Pachin, that does sound right. And I can see him hiring even more magicians to come up with "his magic". I recall more than once him saying he created this and that trick when he was doing them, but the reality of it is that he didn't. It doesn't bother me that he hires other people to create his magic, but other than his bad acting it's annoying to hear him take credit from other people, but that has become his style.

'Magicians helping magicians?'
Here, it's 'magicians criticising magicians'. The shows are not made for other magicians. They are the combined efforts of the impressive creative team as mentioned above. This is what they have produced, and its target audience does not read or access this website. Now Jay Sankey has been signed up as a contributor. Let's see what will happen. Hopefully an enhanced output, with clever, innovative routines. I hope so. Cheers Chris |

For me the Criss angel seasons show some incredible things. The only down side is that I don't believe his Magic should be scheduled. that's one of the main differences between Angel and Blaine. You get surprised when you get to watch Blaine once in a blue moon on TLC. You don't get so surprised when I get to see Criss Angel every Tuesday night at 10. Just my two cents if it's worth anything

IMO Criss is not a magician, he is a perfomer. If you asked him to do a 3 fly I bet he would choke.
Sankey will help him take old principles of magic and apply them in new creative ways which is what Jay is great at. Criss will then take these new effects and present or perform them on a larger scale. And for kriste sake, they both have television shows, products and fans and followers. I don't, and most of us don't have forum topics about us, do we? Give them the respect that they deserve. And yes although his humor is not everyones style, I would love to see your Wichita Slip.....
I am a Sankey addict....please, help me!

Sankey leaves me cold on every front....magic, personality, marketing, and writing style.
Hopefully Angel will remain the final word in what he does and says, because Jay Sankeys personality is the last thing CA needs to have injected into his shows. |

I am a personal fan of Chris but not really of Jay...
However, I admire the work that Jay have produced in the past and I think he is ingenious man in the world of magic. I have no doubt he will help Chris's work greatly... |

I am a little unnerved by many of the comments in this topic. Jay Sankey has proven himself as a great creative mind in the world of magic. If you buy his effects, I wouldn't even think of trying to present them in his style. Jay Sankey is a pretty unique performer and hard to copy, if that's what you want to do. Why not come up with your own presentation instead of directly copying? As for Chris Angel and how good of a magician he is; his technique, his look, whatever bothers you about him- Chris angel has a style and a presence and he is on TV. Give him credit for doing it every week. Everyone reading this probably adores Houdini and he wasn't a great magician, he was a great personality. Anyway, sorry to preach but I think Sankey's creativity will be great for the show, thanks.

Let me give it a different spin.
Both Chris and Jay are on top of their profession - both are well known all over the world. That is more than most of us can claim or ever will achieve. Like it of not - they have made it . . . Andy

So Jay is well known all over the world now huh?
I can't find a SINGLE person who is not a magician who knows him.
