I ams flying to the UK tonight to be watching the international magic convention competition tomorrow because Dynamo is in it. He is very fantastic and will win the competition easy.
He did it some years ago and was doing floating glasses and got a runners up but not the winner. He is going to be kicking everyone's elses backsides.
Think not what magic can do for you, but what you can do for magic.

Dynamo did some serious slieght of hands today and wiped the floor with the compeition. He will win for definite. He did a polo mint from his neck and a mars bar from his shoe. He did a card to hat trick and a coin in a coca cola can which was signed and everything.
His shoelaces changed colour too. And he did some boddypopping. I also met two of his posse who were being at the convention, Dynamite and Gunpowder. Their card skills were very good. They were practicing in a corner with their heads down looking at their hands manipulating some cards and not saying anything. The one from Sweden dropped an ace on the floor so I don't think he will win. If Dynamo doesn't win it then Marc Obi-one will win for being brilliant with card relelations and a golden rose and coin and some cards, or the french man who copied David Stones.
Think not what magic can do for you, but what you can do for magic.

Hey, I was being right that if Dynamo didn't win it that Marc Obi-one would.
I should be being a judges next time! (But don't say that I overheard a judge saying a result on Saturday night!) |

As far as an actual close up "Act"... IMO Dynamo didn't really compare. I felt the best constructed act was from a French magician (whose name I cant remember) that performed a very nice routine (similar in style to David Stone) that climaxed with a signed glass full of liquid from shoe.
Nothing I do can't be done by a 10-year-old...with 15 years of practice."

I thought the top three places were correct and eric le blanc for the merit but the other two performers I feel didn't deserve it.

Dynamo maybe did, but Mark Oberon didn't deserve 1st IMO, I think that Eric Lebloin (sp?) or Sean Heydon or Seth Engstrom or James Brown should have got 1st.
That's just my opinion. |

Oh well... looks like it didn't work! Anyway they're on youtube under Dynamo magic if you're interested - both new effects were performed at the convention.
