I often follow up my shows with a photo postcard that has a hand written thank you in the text area and our Promo Photo on the front side(with name and web site in the corner, of course). A bit of follow-up marketing with a personal touch expressing sincere appreciation.

In this way, the client is unlikely to forget us as next year rolls around and they will will often display this photo postcard on their office wall, or on their desk, or in an album, as it has an artistic look to it. Thus, "the word" is spread, and the memory of the great time they had preserved (plus it reminds them that we are only a phone call awa).
