Does anyone have any great Christmas Routines? I have a few ideas, but I'm looking for some more. I am doing a Christmas show for ADULTS ONLY. So I can't exactly do effects like "Big Red Nose", etc.
Here are my Ideas... Cut and Restored Christmas Lights (cut the cord and lights go off, etc.) Nest of Boxes (decorated like presents) Comedy Egg Can (An attempt to make "Egg Nog") Appearing Pole (North Pole) Torn and Restored Wrapping Paper (It CAN be reused!) Snowstorm in China (Let it Snow, let it snow, let it snow.) Something w/ D'Lite's and Christmas Lights (I really need help with this one) Also keep in mind that the routines must be secular for this event. Thanx- Jeff |

Isn't it a little late to be putting a holiday show together? You'd be better off just doing your standard show with one holiday themed trick in it than trying to put a whole Xmas show together at the last minute.

Never mind Payne. He is just being himself. It sounds like you have already been preparing for this with the ideas you've listed.
I would suggest saving the D'Lite bit for your cut and restored Christmas Lights. The lights on your tree suddenly blink a few times and go out. You remove the cord of lights from the tree and note that it is not plugged in. "Here's the Problem!" As you say that and hold up the plug, the lights suddenly come on. "Must be a short." The lights go out. You decide to test the bulbs one by one. You pretend to remove a bulb (actually a D'Lite" and suddenly it lights up in your hand. "Nope! Not that one!" Hedre you might do the cut and restored Cord, and when you end, the lights are all on again, while you hold up the knot saying, "I found the short!" Now if you really want to go crazy, do the Professor Cheer Rope trick with Christmas Lights and once again you can "find the shorts" and have the lights all working again at the end.

Thanks for checking in, Bob!
The show went alright. One unpleasant moment was during my Snowstorm in China effect. During my patter (a touching story about a girl and her father) a heavily intoxicated man jumps up and yells, "WELL, THANKS EVERYBODY, SEE YA NEXT YEAR!" at the top of his lungs! The restaurant manager got on his case for interrupting, but it sort of ruined the impact of the trick. I had to work hard to get the crowd back. At the end, however, the audience seemed to really like the effect. There were a couple other glitches during the event that made me have to work a little harder. I appreciate your follow up on the event. I also hope that you had a Merry Christmas! Magically, Jeff Veley |

Jeff,
You sound like a survivor to me! Having to make recoveries are just part of the business. I'm glad to see that you are still full speed ahead. What's next? Bob |
