I have had Greed for a couple of months now. I didn't really mess with it much before last month because of school and stuff. Anyway, I made the bill but the side where the dollar is turned into a 5, I can't seem to keep together. I'm using permanent double stick tape like the movie says and I work all my creases in too. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I'm starting to get frustrated. The bill just won't stay together. Does anyone here have any idea what I'm doing wrong. I hope someone can help me because I don't want to quit on such an amazing effect.

It's hard to answer without exposing the trick, but I've made bill tricks in the past using rubber cement. Brush a thin coat on both surfaces and let them dry before puting them together. Any excess that squeezes out can be easily rubbed off. You might try that.

Maybe you can use a good quality glue stick. Just a thought.

I used rubber cement (as recommended) for Hundy 500 with great results. But that's all full bills, not bits and pieces. (As a bonus, they can be taken apart without damage, in case of "fiscal emergency"...)
I think "glue stick" glue will become too brittle when it dries and not hold up with the Greed handling. Never made a Greed gimmick, but it seems to me d-s tape adds unnecessary thickness...and apparently isn't permanent. Maybe contact cement? |

I used standard 3m d-s tape without any troubles. Maybe try double checking your pieces for proper fit and folds.

He says to use double stick tape instead of rubber cement because the tape will make the gimmick more durable

When using the D/S Tape make sure you keep it clean and that the bills don't have something like dust, etc. on them. One problem with the tape is that it can get dirty, etc. in the process of using it. Also, make sure to use a 3M product for the quality.
Best,

Hmm, slightly off-topic sorry:
I also read, in Wilson's complete course, about nice tricks with rubber cement. Problem, I am not familiar with rubber cement (it's probably because it's called something else here), what _is_ rubber cement?? What is it used for, except magic tricks? Brand names? |
