Here are some good DVD's

Greg Wilson's Off the Cuff
Greg Wilson's On the Spot
Michael Ammar Complete Cups and Balls (lots of great sleight-of-hand)
Darwins Encyclopedia of Thumb Tip Magic (at least vol. 1)
Jay Sankey's No Card Tricks
Jay Sankey's 22 Blows to the Head
Words Greatest Magic Series: Gaffed Coins, Linking Rings, Rope Routines
Jeff McBride World Class Manipulations, and Card Manipulation series

As a lot of people have said, there is a wealth on knowledge in books. But there is more than enough in DVD's, and for most people learning visually is the best way to start. ALWAYS follow what works best for you, and not what people tell you that you SHOULD do.

You asked for penguinmagic stuff ... DVDs ...No card tricks ...Well, here's a little list of what you should buy from penguinmagic:

1) The Creative Magic of Pavel Volume 3 Mental Special(Pavel)
2) Daryl's Fooler Doolers (Daryl)
3) Slow Burn (Richard Sanders)
4) 22 blows to the head (Sankey)
5) Mind Stunts 1 (Kuffs)
6) Ring Thing (Garrett Thomas)
4) 45 (Sankey)
5) Front Row (Sankey)

There you go! No cards,(exept for Front Row). I highly recommand the four first choices on the list. Ring Thing is also pretty good.

That is a pretty good list, but I would make these adjustments:

1) Hundy 500 instead of Slow Burn - I have Slow Burn and while it's great, I never ended up actually using it.
2) Holy Moly instead of Front Row Sankey - if he doesn't want card stuff, then Front Row is a poor value for its non-card material. Holy Moly is a non-card routine that packs small and plays HUGE.

Also look into Gregory Wilson's Ring Leader, for another non-card absolutely incredible routine, as well as being one of if not the best resource for ring and rope material on the market.

Is your choice solely limited to penguinmagic? Because most stuff they have IS card magic.
