I would NOT recommend ordering from Hank Lee, you'll probably regret it.
http://www.mjmmagic.com seems to have the best customer service around at the moment. http://www.themagicwarehouse.com also has good prices and a good selection. |

Firstly I would urge you to check to see if there's a 'real life' magic shop in your area and to support it with your custom. Internet suppliers obviously serve a purpose but as pointed out, nothing beats actually seeing the effect first hand rather than a video clip or reading a (often incomplete) description.
Also, any decent dealer will (if he is genuine) sell you what he considers will be right for you - a website is simply a catalogue of effects and adding to a 'shopping basket' can be costly! It's much easier to overspend on the net than visiting a shop with a given amount of cash in your pocket. I know that I may be in a minority but nothing beats visiting a real bricks and mortar magic shop. Moreover, my biggest gripe with internet shops is the actual prices charged by many. Considering their savings in overheads by not paying rent, rates, lighting, staff, etc. I don't see these offering discounts or a general pricing policy relative to the money they save. What's more, once you add postage and packaging, many purchases may actually work out more expensive. This is only my view, but it will be a very sad day when the last remaining magic shop turns off its lights and closes its doors for final time. Internet shops - a modern day 'advancement' in magic? Don't make me laugh!

If there is no shop around you, and you have to buy online, I STRONGLY SUGGEST you buy from a shop that is backed by a brick and mortar.
HTTP://www.dennymagic.com Denny is a great guy, and Great performer. He has a shop in Vegas, and a shop right here in Baltimore.. I think he has the largest stock of books / videos you can find. Enjoy, George |

I would not recommend Circle City Magic in case you have a return. I had to return a wizard ring and I keep getting a run around. Been 4 weeks and still waiting. Easy to get through but keep getting sweet little lies...and no ring!

Has a huge selection. Prices are OK, but they always have 10% off, 25% off and the prices come out to be around penguin prices. Beware if you sign up for their mailing list. It seemed like I received 3 emails from them everyday. But they send the discount codes via their spam. |

Hank Lee (http://www.magicfact.com), Hocus Pocus, Magic Depot (www.magic.org) and Daytona Magic (www.daytonamagic.com) seem like the places to buy from when they have sales. MJM has good costumer service and may be the best large e-tailer with best prices and also good service on a regular basis. Also, for specialized kid show items, I've found Wolf's Magic good to deal with (www.wolfsmagic.com), and have also enjoyed dealing with Practical Magic (practical-magic.com). "Magic Javier" at mrwiztrunkofmagic.com also offers very individualized service a competitive prices. And Paul Diamond, mrhumble@bellsouth.net, has a list you can get on - he sells used magic via e-mail and I've been pleased with his products, prices, and service (he and Magic Depot have been good about returns).

Hank Lee is in my hometown. I love the service, and I love the little newsletters, but most of all, I love the Conclave! (Which of course, has nothing to do with ordering magic online )
I've had NO problems ordering from Hank's in over 15 years. |
