I'm assuming this effect CANNOT be performed in short sleeves or am I wrong?

I had a play with this at Blackpool, and it is great. It isn't 100% safe because you could be thick. But if you are an intelligent adult, then it is certainly 'extremely safe'.

I liked it and will be ordering one.

The only shame is that you only get 3 bases, one with a spike. You can buy an extra base for £4.50 (well you could at Blackpool). Why not just put 4 in the pack..

You could do this naked if you liked.

I think this was extremely overpriced when compared to Scorpion, just my opinion of course.

Thank you for bringing Scorpion to my attention Drizz. I wonder why Spike is around 3 times as expensive? I'm assuming same principle involved.

I perform this at least once per evening at the bar at my restaurants and I still am amazed by the reactions I'm getting. This evening, one girl screamed at the last stab and fell off her barstool. This is the best version of this effect for me to date! It's also going into my stand-up show as well.

After seeing the youtube videos of people messing up this kind of trick (and maiming themselves / audience member), I'm happy to avoid this one.

Hi guys,

I noticed a few of you were having trouble locating either 12 or 16 oz cups, well here is a link to some very reasonable priced cups in practically any size including the 12 and 16 oz styrofoam versions:

Platt your post has no relevance to SPIKE as the performer is not using SPIKE to perform his effect.

I think is just reminding us all of the danger of performing a Smash & Stab type of effect. Whether it claims to be 110% safe or not there is ALWAYS room for error be it human or other.

I was happy to get mine too but the gimmick was waaaaayyy to big so I had to pay another $10.00 plus postage to mail it back to get a proper one. It's left me a little disappointed.

Have you seen this:

Go to youtube and search "Magic gone wrong" click on the first video

It's awesome......
