Has anyone seen the new Jay Sankey offering - the assasin pouch?

http://www.magicproshop.com/-p-9283.html

The pouch has a built in holder for an ITR, TT, and plenty of space for cards/coins etc. It's small size looks ideal for strolling...

I think this looks really cool. I've ordered one already - how can you go wrong for $20.00 but can't wait to get it.

The quality looks good. (heavy-duty, waterproof nylon canvas)
20 bucks is very reasonable.
Let me know how you like it when it arrives.
Much appreciated.

I got my assassin pouch first week of December. I was a little disappointed. Nothing in the ad is untruthful, it’s just that I had made some assumptions. Here are my pros and cons:

Cons:

1) The center compartment is just big enough for two decks. The fit is very snug so it's hard to pull out just one deck. Since the pouch is soft and doesn't hold it's shape, I need two hands pull out a deck.

2) the zipper is on the top middle of the pouch. It's hard to unzip with just one hand... Also, the top does not open up freely enough to pull out a deck without getting it caught in the top lip. A pull over flap with Velcro would have been a better choice.

3) The pen holder is open on the bottom so your sharpie pokes out the bottom of the holder. This is fine when standing, but I found if you wear it while sitting sometimes the pen can pop out without you knowing it.

Pros:
1) It’s small and compact, looks better than the photograph.

2) The belt loop is sewn shut so it cannot pop off your belt. This can be a negative if you want to take it on and off quickly.

3) It comes with a carabineer clip so you can clip it on a belt loop, which is fine if your going to take it on and off, but not very useful or attractive while hanging on your belt.

4) The thumb tip holder is nice.

5) over all quality is pretty good.

6) the concept is excellent.

This would be perfect if it was just a little larger and the top opened up with a flap so the opening allows decks to go in and out easily. A rigid shape would also facilitate things coming in and out easier.

I glued a hard piece of cardboard in the bottom which helps keep the case more open.

I usually stroll with 2 decks and a couple of card wallets for packet tricks. This pouch is too small to carry these items. You could jam them in, but they wouldn't come out very easily.

I might coontinue using it for the coin holders and to carry one deck. I'll have to test it out more in battle conditions. For now, I'm disappointed with the size... just a little too small.

In summary... The price is right but the product is close but no cigar.

I looked at both, and this is the one I'm getting.
Just an observation, but anything that Frank puts out seems to be "performance tested" by not only himself, but others.
And it's finished leather as well.
I also don't see the balistic nylon Sankey pouch as being suitable with a sports jacket.

You can get the same thing at Home Depot or Lowes for $12. I used to really like Sankey, too.

I purchased Sankey's pouch at SCAM this past weekend. I can fit tons of crap into it. I have a couple hot rods, two decks, neccesary gaffs, holy moly, hopping halves, schotch and soda, a velvet cord for ring effects, paper clips, rubber bands, pen, tip, preset paper clipped and flash paper. I carry this every where I go for performance or imprmptu practise sessions. As for packet wallets I carry those in the pocket of my shirt or pants. The profile of the pouch is great as for the zipper I can open it with one hand and pull out what ever deck I need. This is a great IMHO. $20 bucks isn't so bad for the price either. If you have it and don't want it I know somenoe who will get it off your hands.

Thanks for the review, you saved me $20.00. I have always stayed away from these types of pouches(reminds me of the fanny pack). Also I have seen Sankey a few times and have not seen him were one.Wonder why? Also I wonder if Angel will start to wear one since Jay is now on his team.(hehehehe)
I get to gaff some cool stuff for some cool people

Try putting your packet tricks in shorter (when on their end) envelopes instead of card wallets - if doing this, two decks with a couple such envelopes in the middle fit nicely in the Assassin's Pouch.

I've tried staying away from these as much as possible. It's a reasonable price, but I feel like you can find similar holders as Bitterman pointed on in depot stores, lowes, etc.

I like the Assassin pouch. Well designed, good price point and durable. I kept a 20-30 minute close-up set in mine although I don't perform formally any more. I still have it somewhere set up with all of the bits and pieces in it. Shame Jay doesn't make them any more. Used to be a good seller on the stand.
