I spent two months straight on the first chapter of RRTCM, trying to get my overhand shuffle "perfect." I finally decided it was good enough for now and moved on in the book. And I'm glad I did! I've had a lot more fun learning other stuff, and in the meantime, my overhand shuffle is getting better and better.
It helped to see Paul Wilson drop a card or two in the video. Rudy Hunter ain't perfect either in his own RRTCM video. And the other day, I saw a clip of Juan Tamariz on a TV show, and even HE dropped a card. I'm sure most sleights need to be as perfect as you can make them, but the overhand shuffle isn't one of them. ///ark |

Mark is right. Shuffling should look random and messy sometimes. It is just more convincing that way.
