Becouse there are soo many like us willing to buy the latest and greatest. the hunger for 'new' magic is a never ending story, which is quit common everywhere. I would not rate Peter to be one one of those "trying to make a quick buck" He tries bit too hard to defend his product, which is quite understandable. |

Peter is NOT out for a quick buck his reputation speaks for itself and his creations are workable and are amazing to LAYMEN when presented properly.

I'm sorry but the method to this one is painfully obvious. id love to find the idiot who would say they were fooled by this.

I always get so excited when Peter comes out with a new effect. I have to admit, this IS a cool twist on the normally repetetive one-man-lev-effect market.
Everybody wants to beleive.....we just help them along.

I'll agree that the demo does seem to show some things that don't really flatter the effect (I'll refrain from calling anyone an idiot, though), but the video may be deceiving. It could very well be that they just had an off day shooting the video. For instance, I pride myself in taking some very nice photographs, but there are some days that I come home from a day of shooting thinking I have some works of art, only to find out I really had an off day. It's almost impossible to carefully examine the finished video while on location, and I'm sure he didn't have the time to go back another day to do it all over again because it wasn't perfect. Ya gotta give the guy credit. No matter what you think about a particular effect of his, you can always tell he puts a lot of thought, hard work, and care into his craft and he stands behind his work, as he should. I'll be very interested to read the reviews and maybe see some demos from the folks who buy it. It could turn out to be a winner for Peter. Jeff |

Just because you are a magician and are not fooled by effects you see, does that automatically mean that an audience of laymen will also know how it is done and will not find it entertaining? I think not, if that were the case we would not even be performing.

That being said though, I've been using an Invisible Deck for 20 years, and I can still get fried by someone using a clever routine with one.

Yeah, I hear that!
The fact is, if you can see under the magician and there is no visible mean of support, its a winner!!!! Why wouldn't the demo reflect this MAIN point of the effect???? I have serious doubts about this, I'll wait for a brave soul to hook us up with a review first. I love the idea of the effect, its a new kinda levitation. But I was surely NOT fooled. And I don't think my friends would be either. |

I think magicians on the Café are getting better at writing critizing posts than then they are at performing magic.

With tighter clothing the effect would probably be visually better. Gravitate would look great for a sidewalk/curb suspension! Imagine someone pinning your feet to a curb (with there hands). With the curb and the spectator supporting your feet and a block to support your head, you reach behind your head and pull the block out from behind your head, leaving you suspended. The suspension I predict would look great to someone standing on the curb. Just my two cents.

I do NOT own Gravitate. I was just visualizing something that MIGHT be possible with the gimmick. It was my imagination running free. Also Peter Loughran did say some of the height was taken off the effect because he was wearing baggy clothing.

Which is true.. if you wear skin tight shorts you will seem to be floating higher

But can they still look completely underneath you? the demo seems to avoid that...?

That the demo does.. if they are looking at certain angles like face to the ground.. in one spot doesn't lookg good
