I have been lurking for about a month now and really enjoy the site. I can't believe the amount of knowledge and helpfulness that I have seen here and just thought I'd drop my own note.

I'm pretty much brand new to magic. I'm working my way through RRTCM and Bobo's in hopes to someday entertain at parties...much to the chagrin of my introverted wife.

My true motive for getting into magic is to take something with me to work. I'm an ER nurse and would like to have another way to interact with the kids that come to my hospital. Every now and then, when there's some down time, it'd be nice to try and make their stay a little easier with some well timed magic. Also, my wife is a school teacher (elementary special education) so I always have a built in test audience! heh!

I look forward to spending more time here!

Welcome, having worked er's myself at one point, I found that small pocket close-up tricks entertain the younsters there more than coins and cards. things like brass hotrod, sponge balls, scotch and soda, etc. Kids love those, easy to carry and easy to do.

Nice to meet you, welcome.
It's times like this I wish I'd listened to what my Grandad used to say...
