Dec. 4, 2006.....IBM Ring 257 (Fantasma Ring) gave tribute to Norm Nielsen. The tribute show was held in Las Vegas at the Orleans Casino. Many well known names in magic came to pay honors to Norm for his dedication to the art of magic. Some of the names at appeared would include: Lance Burton, Jeff McBride, Johnny Thompson, Carl Ballantine, Kevin James, Gary Darwin and more. The tribute included awards presented to Norm by the I.B.M. and S.A.M.. It also included performances by: Carl Ballantine, Goldfinger & Dove, Kevin James along with Antonio, Aye Jaye, Gary Darwin, Amos Levkovitch, Simon Lovell, Will Roya, Johnny Thompson, Fielding West and more. Music was provided by Michael Close on piano and the M.C. for the night was Jeff Hobson. Also, for anyone that knows Gary Darwin and what he has recently been through....it was good to see him back on stage as he performed a new routine that he especially set up for this event. Gary performed the dissolving toes effect (if you know him, ask him about it next time you talk with him) but before he walked off stage....Joey King (President of I.B.M. Ring 257) presented Gary with a watch for his involvement in magic. After the show ended, Norm gave his thanks by talking with friends and fans plus being available for pictures and autographs. Then Roger Dreyer invited a group of people to come to his 21st floor suite for a little get together and for friends to share more stories about Norm.

WOW!
What a great time we had at the tribute to Norm Nielsen.

My son Eli won first place in Miami at The IBM this year. Part of his winnings was a trip to Las Vegas thanks to Roger Dreyer and Fantasma Magic. Eli was there to present the award to Norm. But I think the highlight of evening for for Eli was meeting one of his heroes in magic, Lance Burton.

Then the next night we saw Lance's show. The show has gotten better. During the show Lance told everyone that Eli and his sister Emma won the IBM and talked to them a little bit. It was too cool!

After the show they told us to stay in are seats. Then Lance came out. We talk to him for awhile and he gave us all sign programs (which will be on ebay very soon. (Just kidding.)

Lance is just the best! What a great guy!
It was a wonderful time!
Thanks Roger And Lance
