I've always been a fan of "The Table of Death". (except where the magician vanishes completely, looks too fake) I've seen several versions where the audience sees through the curtain until the very last second.
Has anyone ever seen it where a video camera is looking down into the enclosure? I had an idea that you could have a camera operator standing on a platform aiming the camera down into the enclosure. This way, you could see a live image of the magician until the very last second when the knives drop. Perhaps it would add some more "realism" to the illusion. Without giving away the exact method, you can imagine David Copperfields "Vanishing Camera" illusion and his escape from the imploding building which both used video to assist in the illusion.

Yes. In the version you don't like. I saw a T.V. special (I forget which one but it was the one where a bunch of magicians did a bunch of tricks or something)
The guy who did it had a video camera on him and that shot was in a small box on the main shot. Then as the spikes fell, the inner shot cut, and he appeared on a building behind the trick. -vk
