Hi,
first I have to say that the ideas on that system are great. and I think its a wonderful system. But, I doubt that it can be used under fire in a real game. The way you have to peek at the cards for the cut locations and the way you peek during the Riffle Shuffle is in my eyes way to suspisous. Maybe its because I come from the Casino side and I'm allways looking if it would pass the Casino procedures Test. What dou think? Will it work in a home game? Or is it only for pushing the limits what would be possible with a deck of cards? regards Phil. |

I definately say that unless you have sparks coming out your fingertips, or youve practiced for at least 50 years, lol, it doesn't seem like this could really be pulled off. Granted maybe some of the technique would be usefull, but for the most part the peeking technique would be suspicious against anyone who has any knowledge of fair play. I say the sequence is very inginuitive and would work in "ideal situations" but, my opinion is that it is a little to technicle. I have always beleived in the KISS standard in all card play.

Can somebody tell me why casinos use a shiner to peek the bottom card?

Iamslow what do you mean "if they don't they see blank"? Are you saying that casinos cheat and deal from the bottom?

Many casinos have even gotten away from the shiner instead moving to other technology.
Originally it was to avoid the cards getting a "bend" in them from looking at the bottom card. When the dealer would lift up the cards to see if he had blackjack, he only did so when he had a 10 or an ace on top. So enough looking, and the 10 cards got bowed. The shiner originally made it easy for them not to "bend" the cards to avoid players picking up on them. Many casinos now have actual marks on the faces of the aces and the faces, and technology that has red and green lights when they are inserted into the slot.

Hey PhilWoo it's your good old friend Louie hope you are doing well we spoke long time ago about your beautiful demo-video that you had put out I don't know if you remember me, anyway to answer your question about will these riffle shuffle tecniques work in a game the answer is YES definitely these tecniques will work do they take practice? ABSOLUTELY! years and years of constant practice I use these techniques all the time in the games that I play.
Now don't get me wrong yes there is that phase where as the cards are p****d it can look suspicious but you can become quite proficient in this technique where it actually looks just like a normal shuffle, as I have been doing this beautiful move for 20 years straight to look very normal and beautiful, so again this can and has been applied by me in many games that I play in but only after years of many practice can this be used. Good to see you on the Café again my friend PM me for any further details you may have Your friend Louie God bless, take care and Happy holidays to everyone here on the gambling Spot. |

Hi Danny, The book was actually written for the period before the little mirror.. that was when the dealer peeked his holecard manually and knew the value of the card even if it wasnt a black jack..
