The veil?
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

I suck at quoting without the bible in front of me. When Jesus was crucified, the veil was torn in two meaning you could then speak directly to God without the need for a human mediator doing it for you. Jesus became that for us. I also use it to refer to the truth finally becoming clear and the veil being removed from your eyes. Let he who has eyes see, he who has ears hear.

Doug,
I grieve with you my friend and I understand. When I originally read your post, my wife was being treated for leukemia. She was diagnosed in June of 2006, received Chemo, Radiation, and a stem cell transplant. Despite all the technology and efforts of medical science, she went to be with the Lord March 27th of this year. She was my best friend and critic and I feel that I have been ripped in half. My comfort comes in knowing that she is in the arms of God and free of the agony of the cancer that took her life. Both of our wives are now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord! Blessings to you and I pray that your talents will be used to shine His light throughout this world. Andrew |

I am so sorry for your losses. May you feel support in the love and solidarity of your friends both in the world and the net.
Andrew, your words about magic as a talent are very true. May you all find joy in multiplying your talents. I sincerely don't believe that true faith is shaken by a magician. Although it may be your talent that separates true faith from blind dogmatism, which is shallow belief at its most immature. Helping those around us grow in wisdom and charity is a worthy goal of any art, including a magician.
