Because it is fun to entertain and stun people.
I like card magic because they're so ordinary and everybody knows cards. |

I perform card magic because it's easy for audience's to understand the simple properties of cards, and there are so many varieties of effects that can be performed with a single pack of cards. Having said that, the card tricks that magicians enjoy are typically not the same one that lay people enjoy. We love seeing complicated sleight of hand and a thousand phases to every trick, but lay people like simple magic that they can understand. So for lay people I perform card magic that includes Ambitious Card, transposition routines, signed card and color changes, etc. I reserve the ridiculous sleight of hand and a thousand phases for myself and magicians. This way, everyone wins!

Theres just so much you can do with a deck of cards that goes beyond "pick a card".
You can read minds. You can do things that are physically impossible. You can make them disappear. The list goes on and on. Everybody knows what a deck of cards is, and can tell when you've just done something magical. |

Thanks for the question. In these busy christmas performing days, its easy to forget "why you perform magic" at all. Because when you are running on "a high" feeling from one show to the other - it's easy to move focus towards yourself.
I perform magic to astonish and entertain the audience - and give them a good time. I work hard to put my focus to the audience and on the audience. But it is not as easy as it is to write it - but its my goal. Thanks. Remember all the effects you perform should astonish and entertain - live them that way, present them that way and they will. If you suddenly don't feel enthusiastic about an effect, then take it out of your routine - even if its the best effect you have. You have to present with a light in your eyes and with enthusiasm. I took cups and balls out for a period - even though it was a winner. I just got a little tired of it - and immediately it had less impact on the audience. Now, I realised that I simply had to serve it with enthusiasm, believe it to be a class acct killer effect/routine, and when I perform it with that belief then it plays huge again. Thanks for asking the question - its always good t remind yourself. |

Performing card magic for me is...
1. Cost effective. 2. Portable. 3. Theraputic. 4. Entertaining. 5. Forever evolving. Cardamagically, <<<KRazy4KaRdz>>>

Why card magic?
1. Insanity 2. No life 3. Enjoy working towards achieving a goal 4. Enjoy entertaining people 5. A Drug Rehabilitation Centre is too costly Any of the above I suppose!

It just fits in (almost) anytime, (almost) anywhere.
You can't do the "metamorphosis" kinda thing in a train or bus.

Because it is the most natural thing to do with a deck of cards . . . Pick up an ordinary deck of cards and transform it into a magical moment.
Also, because it is very difficult to master . . .
Cards never lie

I love cards because it has many possibilies, very visual in apperance when you do magic with visual properties, mentalism, T&R, transposition, Colour Changes, gambling effects, story-telling, Card Vanishes, etc.
When I perform, I don't need to worry and think a lot what card magic should I perform, etc because as the nature of card magic has many numerous possibilities of effects.
