I recently did a levitation on the street for some friends, and some passer-by spectator was gracious enough to expose the method to everyone... "I was hanging from a clear rope, probably tied to the flag pole of the nearest building"

I perfomed the Fearson Cig Levitation to a group of friends. Someone shouted out at the end of it: "I know how you do that, I just don't know how."
Made sense to me! Posted: Sep 1, 2005 3:46pm Clear rope? Where can I get some? hahahahaha! |

I've picked this post up late.. but thought I'd add my latest:
I did '8 Card Brainwave' in the pub the other day, making it VERY clear that the spectator had a totally free choice of card. He didn't want to change his mind. Then, after the effect, another guy at the table was saying that he knew how it was done. Apparently, I forced that card on the guy! I suppose the fact that he chose the ever-so-conspicuous five of spades was evidence of this.. I love people's lame attempts at guessing how an effect was done. The more they convince themselves, the less heat on me. Syd |

I performed Jay Sankey's Dreamscape the other day (Four blank cards transform into the four queens) and the young lady at the table had this wise and logical explanation.."Oh! He uses cheaters cards!"
Hmmmmmm. Never heard of them puppies.....

I've heard Copperfield flight was done using magnets. Another guy said all the stage was full of water. He was swiming instead of flying

I was performing the other day just in my lounge room to one of my sister's friends. I was performing a torn and restored card. This was after I had done a few tricks and my misdirection failed at just the wrong time and he caught a flash of the torn going to my pocket. The first part of the stupidity began when he saw the flash and I said "And now if you open the hankercheif with the four pieces of the card in it" He finished "You will notice they have disappeared" Now this was stupid because you could still see parts of the card in the hanky. After the presentation he said well I know that you put some of the torn card in your pocket but I don't know how it ended up back together in the middle of the deck. What an idoit he saw the torn card and still didn't put two and two together. I know I shouldn't have stuffed it up to begin with but it almost made the effect better!

Some of my favourites.
When performing PK silverware - I have minature blow torches sewn into the tips of my fingers or Magnets sewn in them. For Most effects - Same as Someone elses slowing the heart. I have swallowed enough magnets and they are flowing through my blood. Ultimate one! For Vanishing Salt grains and reproduction of then from the hand - I have an elastic tied to each grain and they shoot up my sleeve. ROTFLMAO! Regards Wolflock

Kid's are amazing with coming up with explanations and believing them. They believe anything they want and usually it's not possible to convince them. They start running around and forget everything My favourite is "You just made that card yourself".
