I was looking for a gambling cheat that made it look like I was teaching the spectator a cheat, while I was really doing something totally different which turned out to be a better sleight than what I was "teaching" them. Confusing?
I was looking for something like 2 Card Monte, but for gambling. Anyone got something? |

I personally love the Hollingworth Routine.
Basically he goes through four different deals and uses a different technique for each one explaining as he goes. But the last one is done with no false dealing or stack shuffling and in the end, even though the deck was just shown to be mixed before, it is revealed in new deck order. The real treat is the showing of the deck all mixed.

His videos Routines and the London Collection are avaliable. I forget which one has it. I still advise his book though. There is just SO much in it that is incredible.
Including Reformation, which is not avaliable anymore on any video format.

Are you talking for cheating, a con, or for magic?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Under The Table - I use this technique often in my performances as "Australia's Honest Con Man" I rarely use ACTUAL gambling techniques but instead use magician's methods and routines to create the illusions of an impossibly good cheat.
For example, I explain the concept of a centre deal to the audience. I take a black jack hand and place it in the middle explaing that I need to make it LOOK like I am dealing from the top when REALLY, the cards are coming from the middle. Of course, I am using ambitious card moves and I really am dealing from the top! |

Im gonna have to check out that book and dvd...they sound perfect.
Im looking for magic. But I do card/dice cheats so I can use them easily. I wanted more of a magic type look, but only using gambling cheats (i wanted "Them to know I'm doing something fishy but they cant see it," as opposed to "im not doing anything and you cant see it if I was.") Confusing people, Ian |
