Some girl came running up to me yesterday at the mall and asked for my number. Just when my wife was about to start a cat fight. She said she recognized me from a magic show and wanted some contact information... Not having any cards on me I started to give her my cell phone number but my wife cuts in and gives her our house number instead...I guess my wife is going to start taking all my calls from all the attractive young females.
Woohooo!!! I got recognized for the first time |

I was recognized, but it makes me feel odd - see, I promised myself I'd retire the first time a birthday kid's parent said "I remember you, you were at my 7th birthday party."

Yes it is a strange feeling when someone comes up to you and says "aren't you . . ." This has happened to me several times with people that have seen me at shows or parties. BUT, when a complete stranger came up to me while I was walking down the aisle of a local trade show event (as a guest) and said "aren't you Harry Mandel?" I was taken aback. Then he explained, I was booked through an agent, to do a show at his organization and he looked me up on google and saw my pictures, etc. He did not trust the agent 100% (gee I can't imagine why), so he wanted to learn more about me. He also saw my name on the guest list for this trade show and was on the look out for me. Almost like being stalked. Well he turned out to be a very nice guy, and after our conversation he felt happy about the booking. After I did his show, he booked me for another show for the following week.

What really amuses me is when I am not recognised...
I did a local TV stint with my Improv group about a year ago. After it aired, I actually had people talking to me at my day job about the show they saw on tv with a local improv troupe. They reccommended I watch it next time it aired. "Urm...What was the name of the improv group?" I asked innocently. "Oh...The Grimprov. They were great. They had this british guy with long curly hair who did this bit about a monkey getting stuck in a trap..." I pulled out my ponytail and switched dialects "Kind of like this then?" Awaiting sudden realization. "No...Not quite like that. He was taller and better looking." I gave up. Gwyd |

I feel very strange around my...(I hate to say it, because it will make me sound really into myself) Fans, In the Charlotte and Greensboro area, especially in the art comunity I am well recognised.
I hate to say it but I don't like people coming up to me and saying how awsome I am, and go on and on about me...It gives me the creeps. Brett.

Gywd my skin is crawling.
Tell Sylver "Thank You" There is a difference between beingoogled over and told how amazing you are, and being told that you are attractive. I like being told how hot I am! Brett.
