Hey there,

Just wondering if anybody knew a) The Routine Name b) where to purchase rights, plans or books for the Gypsi Rope Tie. It is similar to the routine Juliena Chen Performed on Monte Carlo Magic Special several years back.....

Here is a description for those who are scratching there heads..
Assistant is clearly tied up, volunteer (male) with a sports coat or suit jacket is invited on stage. The are covered with a curtain, curtain then falls with the woman wearing the mans jacket underneath the tied ropes.

Thanks and merry Christmas!

You might want to start with Tarbell, Volume 6, and the whole section called "Spirit Ties and Vest Turning."

You can also find the tie she used on one of the Falkenstein and Willard DVD's (volume # 2 gives you the explanation). One place you can find it is at:

PLUS, You can do a search right here on the Café' as this topic has been discussed several times before giving several resources.

I can't find any threads on here. I did a search, I will keep looking and I appreciate all the help Harry & Spellbinder.

If there are any more resources, that would be great.

Thanks.

Wow! When I just did a search for “Spirit Tie” I got five pages of hits! That’s a lot of reading and resources.

I got the thread “Jacket and rope routine”:

And “spirit cabinet rope tie”

Question

Do both the jacket and ropes move from magi to assistant? or just the jacket?

If both jacket and ropes are transferred to the assistant, well I haven't seen that. If it is just the jacket that goes on and off the one that is tied up, that can be found in many sources(Tarbel v6, Enc of Rope Tricks, Fulves rope)
