I had a great Yule/Christmas whatever...
The best thing was that I got to spend it with my whole family, at least the important people...Something that has not happened in years. I had my kids for the whole weekend until Monday Night. I usually get them X-mas eve or go pick them up in the morning. This year I got them both eve and morn. It was nice to be able to tuck them in all excited and have them wake up the same way. Add to that, my parents came over and spent the weekend, so they got to see the kids in the morning when they came down to see all of the stuff under the tree. And I had m'love Sylver by my side the whole time. It all really meant a lot. And because I hate when someone hijacks a thread from a talk about really cool material stuff to the "Greatest Gift of all" sentimental swill. I really really got cool stuff. I got an MP4 player (MP3 player with video), a Playstation II console and a bunch of games (Looks like it is finally time to retire my original Sega Genesis I have been playing since 1993), a stack of sculpting supplies (Enough raw materials to keep me busy til mid summer, at least!!), a couple of movies, T shirts and a modern utility Kilt. All black with buckles and rings and pockets and such. Perfect for a hard working Celt fellow like myself. Thank goodness I have the legs for it. Hah!! I pulled it back to materialism where it belongs!! Gwyd, who pretends to be decidedly unsentimental |

The wife surprised me with a reservation for dinner/show at the Magic Castle late Jan...picked that week because she recognized the name, Rich Bloch, from my conversations about my CW collection. I was surprised as I am not a Castle member, but they were OK when she told them that I was a member of the SAM.
I did indulge myself with Alan Warner's new boxed Egyptian Collection to add to my Warner collection |

My wife gave me the “The Magic of Ascanio – The Structural Conception of Magic” and “The magic of Ascanio – Studies of Card Magic”. I’m only a little over 40 pages into the latter but I love the book already.
A coffee table book about Irish Pubs… if I could only make my den look that way I’d be as happy as a… well, you get the idea. A couple of DVD box sets I wanted… a couple of non-magic books… and a new electric razor (the one that cleans itself… pretty nifty). And two wonderful days with my grandkids.

Fortunately, the second feature "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians" was actually funny and enjoyable so it wasn't a total loss. I later ran "Manos" for her, she made it about fifteen minutes into the film before giving up!
