Hi all:
I want to have my own deck of cards printed, and I need some ideas on which are the most useful cards. So a deck has 56 cards; the 52 we normally use, plus 2 jokers, plus 2 advertisement cards. I want to maximize the amount of tricks that can be done with the deck. It will have a customized back. I already have an idea for the two Jokers. Now for the other 2 cards I have left - what do you think are the most useful, and which one will enable me to do the biggest number of tricks?? A DB and a DF?? Any other?? Please give me help or ideas for those 2 cards. Thanks a lot, Alex

I would also like to know how I can release and make a deck of cards. I have a design.

Sheer variety wise, a DB and a DF seems like the correct choice.

I like what DB did with his "extra" cards. They make for a nice variation of Larry Jennings' "Multiple Lift Display", ala his effect called "Uniflection", in the C.M.O.L.J. book. There is a blank face, a special DB card, and Two "Liar" Jokers. I can show 4 blank cards, then 4 DB cards, then they change to the Jokers in a convincing manner. A nice packet trick.

Duplicates of two cads?
I always like an extra joker.

A DB makes sense to me; however, I don't know that I'd bother with a DF since you can get these anywhere and they don't have to match your specially designed backs. Something to think about before printing. Perhaps a blank-facer and a DB?

Its great to want a deck
but you need to know a few things first: the cost is (from US Playing Card Co) about $10,000 and you are in portugal so shipping.... a private printer needs to have quality control - make sure the cards will last many printers do not use coated card stock and the cards life is very short check out the printing before you choose to print even a single card

Just to add also -
Have your own tricks - If you do double facers (which I agree with the prior post - are a bit of a waste unless you have a very specific trick) - make sure they are a good combination. a 4 of clubs on the back of a 6 of Diamonds may be a waste - but a specific queen on the back of another queen may be useful if you have a trick. FOR MY CAJ DECK I have a big red box with about 2000 cards in it with tape and sissors - I make cards - see if they work and get ideas. don't STEAL OTHERS TRICKS - that will just make your whole deck a blacksheep and you will have the thrill of having your own deck - but noone else will want it (check out the Thread Real book from Grand Illusion posts). IT IS HARD to fill 56 cards - It takes time Give yourself a year to really figure what you want in the deck - don't rush or your deck won't go anywere.
