I've done some forum surfing and all, but I didn't find suitable results. I'm considering cost, reaction, and all around presentation on these two effects, and I'm wondering which one of these you'd suggest for a linking routine?
I originally opted to buy both and see what I could get from them, but now I'm considering saving money on one or the other, and wonder which would be more useful? Thanks for any and all feedback ahead of time |

I like 3 Ring Circus, since you get some extra effects on the dvd, and the ring effect is cool....

Hi Kreate!
1. Three Ring Circus...WONDERFUL! Carry it with you everywhere...looks like ordinary rings you carry your keys on...spectator examines everything (he thinks) before and after. 2. Dreamweaver...Safety Pins link & unlink. I don't own this, but understand it is also a wonderful effect! Many here in the Café highly recommend it. Safety pins, however, are not as regularly used any more, so you'd have to find a good storyline to go with them. The question is, which would YOU prefer? Myself, I like the idea of magic with everyday objects, PLUS, Jay Sankey gives the above mentioned BONUS material on the instructional DVD. Doug |

Get 3 Ring Circus for no other reason than the bonus material. There are eight killer effects on there that, as advertised, could easily have been on their own dvd.
As for 3 Ring Circus itself, I have posted elsewhere on this forum my thoughts (I do not like it that much) but there are many who disagree with me. I do not own Dreamweaver but have also heard great things about it. |

As a sidenote, I'm not actually paying for either of these. Won a gift card from the Ellusionist website for $100, so they'll foot the bill this time
With that in mind, any further thoughts? |

To be honest I didn't get on with dreamweaver. it is a nice effect but feel it isn't right for me and find it very angle sensitive!!

Without having seen Dreamweaver, the one I'd recommend is Dan Garrett's "PinDemonium". Fantastic trick from beginning to end. Well done and great thinking from a great magician.
3 ring circus is bad. the routine (if that's what you want to call it) stinks. that's why (in my opinion) they added a bunch of card tricks on the DVD. to make up for it. I think we know enough card tricks already, hence my poor opinion of the dvd. AND it's expensive. AND the gimmicked rings seem to be prone to breaking. And if you believe Sankey that you can pass THE rings out for examination, well, that's your own business. Expensive, poor routine, poor quality rings, ... Do yourself a favor and look for "pindemonium". And if you cannot find it, get DreamWeaver.

I have had a lot of fun with 3 ring circus. Ive added a key fob to it and use it as a ice breaker patter gose a bit kike this,
"Hi just got this ring it nice but do you find its hard to get stuff on and of it? then I take a key ring or finger ring and launch in some tricks. I also do the routine on the DVD. I do like it it is fun a bit limeted mind.
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |

Dreamweaver is a great effect. The only problem I have with it is the fact that safety pins are not solid objects in the spectators eyes, like linking rings

Have to agree with Frank on this one. Three Ring Circus, not so good, and the bonus material doesn't help if you are looking for a "linking effect". Bob Sheetz and Dan Garrett released a DVD called Grab Your Pinhead, it is both of their routines. The props are normal pins and you can do it close-up.
