Hello all. I just want to give a quick review for the Master Bicycle Deck that http://www.ellusionist.com sells. If you are looking for a great deck of cards that just feel awesome in your hands. These cards will last longer than the normal Bicycle's. The cards look like normal red Bicycle back cards but they have a redesigned Ace of spades. If you need some cards, check them out.

The other cards I recently got is the Ghost Deck by http://www.ellusionist.com. These are also great cards. The white/black backs give the deck a unique look that is very impressive. The other thing about these cards is the hearts and diamonds (the pips) except for the ones in the corner of the card which are red but outlined in black. This gives the deck a black and white look that is just awesome. The black cards are normal. This is another quality deck from http://www.ellusionist.com if you interested in a deck with a very unique look.

Marc

Oh and I also got a Stripper deck in the Ghost design and it is the best cut Stripper deck that I have ever got. You can't tell its a stripper deck as the cuts are so slight but the deck works like a dream...check this one out if you want a stripper deck.

There was already a thread about those cards. It seems that most people didn't think they were worth the price.

They are expensive but look real cool.

I like tiger deck best and I think it is the only one that worth every cents you paid.

I paid 4.99 for the Ghost Deck and 3.99 for the Master Deck...to me those are great buys. The cards are so nice that I don't think I will use regular Bicycles anymore. Just my opinion

Masters Deck is a high quality card deck, lasts a lot longer than a normal deck. I agree with you gobrownstd54 , I will not go back to regular bikes.

The "best" deck is relative. The Master's deck looks good, but I strongly dislike the Ace of Spades. Richard Turner's new deck beats all of them. They are cut from the correct side of the sheet. They are the proper thickness.

But all of this, other than Richard's cards, is old news.

Ok, Bill, you mention Richard Turner's deck, but where can I go to look at these cards?

The stripper decks are pretty expensive but the quality is awesome. The other stripper deck I have, you can see the cut very easily so anyone paying any attention can tell its a trick deck. With the Ghost Stripper deck (Hindu) whether its the print on the cards or the cut is very slight, you can't tell its a stripper deck at all. Awesome quality. I got the Hindu deck and will probably get the Belly deck soon.

Ghost HINDU Stripper Deck = $10.50

Ghost Belly Stripper Deck = $11.50

I just checked out the Richard Turner deck and I just don't like the look. I am sure the quality is great but I prefer the look of the Bicycles. Here is a link for those interested.

Ok...I love the Ghost Deck....BUT

The first deck I got started to warp. I thought it was because of the Card clip I got from Ellusionist (one of their metal ones) so I sent it back and got a Porper clip. I broke out a new deck and started using my new Porper clip. Same thing happens!!! So, I ordered 3 more packs. Just got them today. I will not be using any clips at all on these...well after shuffling them and dribbling them a couple times, these friggin things are starting to warp also!!!! It's like if you grap the top and bottom (short sides) and squeeze it will make a clicking sound and the deck will be slightly bent that way. Then you do it the other way and the same thing happens but the cards are bent the oppisite way. This is killing me. I have always used Bicycle cards and have NEVER had any decks do this before...I even have old decks and they don't do it....I never knew it could happen until I got this Ghost Deck.

I love the Ghost Deck but if this continues to happen, I will have to stop using them. I know about all the ways to straighten them, and beleive me, I have done them all...On my old decks, I would put them every other card turned over with a 20lbs weight on them for a week! They were good for about 30 mins and then back to the warp...

PLEASE HELP ME!
DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS HAPPEN??

What type of Porper Clip did you use?

There's one specifically made for the Premium Edition decks, and a regular one.

I know that when my decks do this, it's because my hands get sweaty or the cards go through a temperature change of some sorts.

I'll run this by the team and see if it's been a common occurence lately.

I just get the box that comes with 12 decks of bicycle rider back (standard face) playing cards (6 red decks and 6 blue decks).... it only cost about $12.00 FOR THE WHOLE BOX OF 12 DECKS!..... that's like a dollar a deck... I think its a GREAT deal because bicycle decks are not cheap and known everywhere.. that way the spectator wont think its a trick deck... a other reason why I buy so many packs is I go through them fast since I usually have the spectator sign the card that they select.. after so many signatures in a deck I just move on to a other deck... and use the old packs for practicing slights and moves and all that....

The Richard Turner cards have a nice feel to them but they didn't faro well for me. I'm not sure about the back design either, learly not a regular deck of cards. They are nice though.

Best is relative and a VERY personal thing.

In my opinion, I suggest going to your local drug store to see what cards are most common in your geographic area.

Using cards which people are familiar with removes a lot of "unjustified" suspecion that you may be using trick cards.

In my area, Bees and Bicycles are the most popular and I tend to prefer Bicycles unless I perform gambling routines..then I prefer Bees....Bees are also more "casino" like.

In other areas of the country I have seen Tally-Hos as being popular and other areas tend to favor Hoyle or Aviators. Isn't geography wonderful Smile

Expertmagician, I agree with you... the most common cards used is the best way to go I think... when you get those fancy cards some people think "i never seen that type of deck..it must be a trick deck"... also what if yer performing torn and restored effects or having a card signed..that means I would go through these fancy decks to *** quick! that's why I just stick to bicycle... 12 packs for about 12 dollars! that's really a great deal I think!! about a dollar a deck! and they are bicycle decks!!! so make sure to check yer local costco!!!!

Yes the ghost decks have been known to warp. There are long threads about this very problem in the Ellusionist website. I've never tried the ghost decks, and at this rate, probably not ever. I stick to my bicyle backs.

My favorite deck right now is the M.Stutzman Split Spades. EXCELLENT quality, cut, design, everything about it. TRY THEM!

Also, the masters decks are pretty nice. They definitely last longer than the regular bikes.

Bikes are my all time fave. However, on special occasions, Bees and WPT cards are sweet!

I ran this by the Team and got some advice straight from Brad:

You HAVE to be doing something to the cards in order for them to be warping like this. Please take responsibility for this.

The Ghost deck is like any other deck you would buy in a drugstore, except better stock and hopefully cut much better. Please don't blame these things on the deck. I've opened several of my own and simply never have any of these problems - ever.

If the cards are slightly warped when I first take them out, I WORK with them. Fan, faro, shuffle, bend them the opposite way. My cards never, ever, EVER clump up half an hour after use. And if they did, I'd be going, “what did I DO?” I'd be looking at myself rather than submitting a ticket or blaming the deck.

Stick them in a porper guard, and make sure it’s the right type, there are two different types of Porper clips, one for regular cards, and one for the Premium Editions (Tigers, Vipers, Ghosts).

It is the same with rough edges. Work with them. That's what it means to own a deck of cards.

Hmmmmmm....I wonder if Brad ever sold used cars. "The transmission fell out in the middle of the road? The car was fine! What did YOU do wrong with it?"
