A lot of very fine folks go to CAM, and I'm sure someone will step forward. Maybe calling it "Need A Bed At CAM" or something else that's just as clear will help.

In an effort to save money on the trip (and hopefully afford a room!) I'm looking into driving up. At 1000 miles, it's a little daunting. Is there anything the locals can advise me on as far as border crossings, driving laws, etc... are concerned?
Thanks, Josh |

Although a passport isn't mandatory for driving, I think it is for air passage, but it's best to use one anyway.
Driving laws are very similar. 15-hour drive, so if you leave Wed morning, you'll be here late Wed night. If driving, cross at Port Huron, Michigan (Sarnia, Ontario). On a map, it looks shorter via Detroit/Windsor, but Port Huron/Sarnia is quicker and easier. Less traffic and less city driving. Good luck, Josh, and w'll see you there!

The big question remains though, if I end up having to sleep my car or the lobby, who will let me use their shower?
If Map Quest is to be trusted, this appears to be the route I'll be taking: http://tinyurl.com/2pyqe4 I'll probably invest in a Garmin before the drive to be safe though. |

I checked out the registration form, seems that you have to mail it in with your credit card info. is there anyway to do this by internet or by phone instead of old fashioned regular mail?

Josh,
If you're trying to do the convention on a budget, check out http://www.laurierconferences.ca/index-Summer.htm for accomodations. $40/night The university is about a 12 minute drive from the convention facilities. Brian |

Brian,
Thanks for the tip. I might have a room now, but if it falls through I'll definitely look into that. Josh |

I may be able to pick some people up at the airport in Toronto and shuttle to Kitchener.
PM me if you are interested and if I can get two or three at the same time I would be happy to. I will share my phone number and email address so we can communicate and arrange as the event gets closer. Cheers, Will//

Anyone else having problems with the e-mail address on the registration form? I haven't received a registration confirmation yet, and when I try to contact jcaesar@sentex.ca my message gets bumped back citing "permanent errors"

You may not get a conformation yet... as Joan is very busy...!
imagine you planning a convention for all of canada and some from the US she will be extreamly busy over the next few months.... just give it time.. |

It's not a question of 'giving it time'. The problem is that the e-mail is being returned as undeliverable.
And if that continues to happen, then people aren't going to keep trying to register. It's happened to me as well. David. |

Apparently, at this moment, Joan is out of the country. Apparently the issue won't be fixed until she get's back.
