Thank you very much Mr. Drake. I remember watching The Captain years ago in the early 1970's.

Glad you are enjoying it. I grew up in a family of 7 kids and this show was on every morning before we went to school. It was always on because there was always a younger brother or sister who wanted to watch it and us older kids secretly still enjoyed seeing the Captain get pelted with ping pong balls or his carrots stolen.
I think this was one of the last great kids shows. Best, Tim |

I watched the Captain every morning back in the 50s, these clips bring back a lot of memories. One act he used to feature frequently was an old Vaudevillian who called himself "The Banana Man", he did this wild production of an incredible number of bananas, and the only thing he ever said was "Wow!!" in a strange, high-pitched voice.
You sort of had to see it.
Woke up.
Fell out of bed. Dragged a comb across m' head. |

I seem to remember some one on the Captain's show doing a cup and ball routine that would end with a disolve to a question mark.
Anybody else remember that or possibly <who> was doing the routine? It would have been in the early 60s at best.

...I guess nobody else remembers the "cup and ball" bit on Captain Kangaroo.
I feel old.
