Oh boy, I am so excited, this will be my first Blackpool Convention. I heard so much about it as it is my first international convention. Actually I am from Germany and just want to soak as much magic in as possible.
As I produced good and new packet trick stuff for the international market, would it be a good idea to bring some stuff to the convention and talk with the dealers there if they want to book some of the effects? I do not want to sell things under the table (or whatever you would say to the sales that are not allowed without acknowledgement of the convention team). Would it be a problem wearing a shirt with my name on? Christian

One additional question: How welcome is the Euro? How much british Pounds should I take with me? Is it also possible to pay with Euro on the convention and the trade show?

I will be in Blackpool demonstratings my 'foot sausage' trick.
For more details use the searches function of the magic Café. I will only be having 50 units, so first to be coming will be sold to first. Remember this will be on tv soon and everyone is wanting one afterwards. See you there. Juan

The Post Office is the best way to go, decent rate, no added fees, we have found. Never do it at the airport. British Pounds are the way to go, although many dealers take Euro as well. We take Pounds or US. Leaving in the AM, see you there. We will have the entire JOL line there, including Mr O'Connell. OK don't hold that against us.

I simply can't wait for Blackpool - the highlight of which is ALWAYS the incredible Terry Seabrooke... such a gifted, funny, pleasant, quick-witted man and an exceptional magician of the highest calibre. An absolute pleasure to watch. I could spend hours in the company of this charming, self-effacing and graceful gentleman. Don't ask questions - just RUN to everything that he is doing. You'll talk of nothing else all year.
P.S. Watch out for when he's compering a show: he'll use the phrase "you'll see what I mean, when I say..." and then say the performer's name. Pure class.

Blackpool was a great fun.
I was showing for the first time my new underground classic at the Ruskins Hotel. It is my Card On Ceiling Kicker. After showing it one time to my new friend John at the barside, every magician who heard about it is asking me to show them my C.O.C.K. I might soon be releasing it but I don't want for anyone to be ripping off my C.O.C.K. I might do with the patent office first to preventing theft.

Blackpool is so much fun. Seeing 3000+ magicians in one theather is amazing enough to attend the convention. Usually the best part starts after the official events, when magicians start drinking at local pubs and spend the entire night showing each other tricks and organizing random competitions.
The dealers are good enough, you might not have everything you are looking for at best prices, but you can always test, discuss and compare items. This year everyone pretty much had a PK Ring on their hands. I guess there is such a thing as magicians spring 07 fashion. |
