How much is this book selling for these days?

I have Card Craft, After Craft, and Trickery Treats.
I'm not going to sell them, but I agree with Tim, I would be interested in knowing what they are worth.

The "worth" of anything is what someone else is willing to pay for it.

What a shame.

What a misanthrope.

Yes, he likes to pooh-pooh re-issues of books he probably already has and maybe paid a steep price for. Therefore none of us should be allowed to buy the book and enjoy it as he has.

I looked for the book on Vanishing, Inc, but only a physical book was for sale. Other sites that sell the e-book look "questionable", to put it mildly.
Any ideas? thnx

This book isn't available as an ebook, at least a legitimate version. I don't believe Richard Kaufman has put out any of his publications in ebook form.

Thnx -- that's too bad. Hefty price for a book missing a page. Then you have to download the missing page and print it out. So I guess we can say it's a partial ebook.

It seems some people think this book is the greatest thing since sliced bread, while others think it's tripe. Is it full of tricks requiring endless DLs and Elmsley counts? Those bore me to tears.

My only experience with his stuff is a handful of tricks that Aldo Colombini included in his books.

It is not. The sleights required vary greatly. What are some of the books you currently have on card magic?

Thnx.
A few by Harry Lorayne, Aldo Colombini, Frank Garcia, Royal Road, Expert Card Technique, Bob Longe, Fulves self-working books. Stuff like that.
I just find Elmsley counts and DLs in tricks too obvious when they are over used. I'm also not good at those 2 particular ones.
I just like tricks that are very clever moreso than ones that just show off knuckle-busting sleights.

Walter, I would suggest The Card Magic of Nick Trost if it's still available. Effortless Card Magic by Peter Duffie which is available as an ebook.
Quite a lot of Peter's stuff is available in ebook form at Lybrary.com

Thnx! I've been interested in that Trost book for about 10 years! I've heard it will be re-printed very soon.

Yes it is a hefty price for a book that's missing a page. And there was no transparency about the error, no apology, and no announcement. The publisher hoped that it would slide under the radar, until somebody caught it and complained about it .

Reminds me of an episode of M*A*S*H where they were all reading the murder mystery book and the last page was missing that identified the murderer!

I remember watching that episode many years ago. It was indeed funny--but the people who spent a $100 for this book and discovered a missing page are not amused.

You got that right!

It's a shame, and I realize the market for books like this are small -- as is any magic book -- so that's the reason it wasn't corrected. They probably would have lost money if they did rather than making the probably slim, if any, profit as it is. That being said, I'm not sure that making a pdf of the missing page available for download was enough. Maybe offering a discount on other books? I hope they allowed full refunds with a return, with shipping covered both ways.

Around 25 years ago, I bought a paperback mystery from a Golden Age author that I liked, but I didn't read the book until several years later. Mid-way through the book, the pages repeated from earlier in the book -- in other words, page 100, then page 50, 51, 52, etc. These pages replaced the pages that should have been printed. It was a significant loss of pages -- not just one. It was only like a $5 or $10 book, but it was from a publisher who subsequently went out-of-business (I think), so it took me a while to find another one.
